Bridge & Ted's Excellent Adventure (heading into town)

Ted stared at the snow. He didn't like snow that much. Even though he was covered with every layer of cold weather clothing he had, it still looked cold outside. But there were times in a dude's life when he had to go and face snow and maybe snow monsters just to save his best miniature giraffe friend in the whole world. However, he wouldn't be going alone.

[OOC: For Bridge.]

A similarily-dressed Bridge soon appears next to Ted, RIC trotting along behind him.

"Ready, dude?"

"Well giraffes are all resourceful and stuff, dude. I'm sure he'll be okay 'till we get there." Bridge says, tromping through the snow. RIC trumpeted like an elephant, which was supposed to be reassuring or something.

Bridge scrambles for his sidearm and takes a shot at the snow monster. "Uh, I don't suppose you have anything you can use for a weapon?" he asks Ted.

"If only we were fighting kitty snow-monsters," Bridge says woefully. He takes another shot, and this time it hits the monster in the head, sending it down.

Too bad three more monsters have now caught sight of the duo. Well, trio if you count the dog.

"Run?"

"If only I'd thought to add a snowplow last time I upgraded RIC," Bridge grumbles as he tries to outrun the snowmen, firing off shots as he goes.

"Creeeeepy..." Bridge says as they make their way down Apocalypse Avenue.

"Erk!" Bridge says, as he slides on a particularily nasty patch of ice, flailing his arms in an attempt to keep upright. Thankfully, it works.

"How much longer, dude? These buildings all look like so many piles of snow to me, I have no idea where we are."

From his spot where he was curled up in the living room, Earl looks towards the door at the sound of Ted's voice. Beside him is a an empty plate and a radio that's only picking up static.

Earl would smile at Ted if giraffes could smile. But they can't, so instead he just nods his head and blinks a few times.

"Earl!" Bridge bounces over, or, well, as much as one *can* bounce over when they're bundled up in a parka, and ruffled the giraffe's fur.

"Uh..." Bridge peeks out a window, but the streets are still eerily deserted. "Well, the school has electricity and stuff. But it also has snowmonster-thingy-dudes attacking it. So maybe here's safer for now?" Bridge shrugs. "Do you have a backup generator for power or anything?"

"Smart Glasses Dude?" Bridge asks, making his way to the basement stairs. Rummaging around in his knapsack for a flashlight, he finds it and flicks it on after he opens the door.

"Duuuuude..." he says, wide-eyed, as he shines the flashlight around the basement.

"There's gotta be a- oh..." Bridge trails off as he sees something labelled GENERATOR in big block letters. He flips the on-switch, and the room that strangely resembles a space ship comesa online.

There's a *lot* of blinkyflashy lights.

"Sounds like a plan, dude. I think we should get Earl something to eat, too. I'm not sure if popcorn is too nutritious for giraffes."

[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com 2006-01-29 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
Bridge tries to remember. "Um, cucumbers and artichokes? I think. That sounds about right."

[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com 2006-01-29 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
Bridge followed, casting one last longing glance at the computers. He really, really wanted to see what all that stuff was capable of.

After eating some cucumber sandwiches, Earl headed to the front door and began gnawing on the doorknob.

He was either still hungry, or trying to open the door and get outside.

[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com 2006-01-29 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
Earl nods and blinks solemnly.

[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com 2006-01-29 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
Earl steps outside and walks a few paces before turning around and levelling a very stern miniature giraffe glare at Bridge and Ted, who have not yet left the house.

[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com 2006-01-29 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
"Okay, okay, dude! Sheesh!" Bridge throws up his hands in mock-disgust and heads outside with RIC.

[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com 2006-01-29 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
Earl stretches out his neck to point in the direction of the school.

"Maybe the monsters are gone?" Bridge said. "I mean, this town's full of all sorts of hero and superhero types, they probably managed to defeat them." Bridge would feel guilty about not being there to help if it weren't for the fact that Earl had needed rescuing.
