Chaucer's is open [Monday]
Inara unlocks the shop and surveys the damage.
During the weekend, someone or something cracked some of the glass and some drifts blew in.
She winces at the cracked window glass and the water that seeped in during the weekend and turned to a layer of ice on the floor. A sigh escapes her. A broom isn't going to be enough get this stuff off, she's going to have to break it up first. She doesn't even want to see what it looks like behind the counter.
Gingerly, she puts one foot onto the slippery ice, then another. A third step follows, then a fourth. She's nearly at the counter when she slips and grabs for support. Hauling herself up with a grimace, she makes her way around the counter to the back where she steps over the mess of things that were blown from the desk.
It appears she's going to be doing cleaning today, not calligraphy.
Who does glass in this town anyway? And will they have anything left?
[If more or less damage was done to Chaucer's shop over the weekend and I missed it, please let me know. I haven't managed to get through all the threads from Snow-Monster weekend.]
