The Cat Business Office, Wednesday

The Baron may be sprawled on his couch taking a snooze. He might be. But if one were to knock on the door one would never know it, because the Baron would never be so undignified as to sprawl or snooze. The Cat Business Office is, well, open for business.

Tommy had the address written down on a piece of paper. He was still getting used to the town so he didn't find it right away.

It wasn't until he passed by it a few times before he realized he'd been called to do work on the really short place.

"Huh," he said, standing outside.

[ooc: at work so may need to slowplay a tad]

Tommy stared for a long time.

"I gotta find an AA meeting," he said to himself. To the talking cat - because in this town why not have a talking cat? - he said "Uh, maybe? Tommy Gavin. Somebody called about needing repair work?"

Repair work he could deal with. Unless it talked too in which case screw everything, he was drinking again.

"Yeah, yeah," he gave it a studied look. "Any damage inside?"

[ooc: how bad is it?

"It's doable but it'll take me a little while," Tommy said. "I can salvage what's still good but obviously a new window's coming up, and I don't know if I'd try standing on the balcony even if I was your size. I'd need to hit up some supplies from the mainland. How quick were you hoping to get it done?"

"If you don't mind me working in my off hours I could probably get you done this weekend," Tommy said. He checked the materials on the balcony again, then scrawled a handwavey figure down on a piece of paper and handed (pawed?) it to the Baron. "That's my guess, including parts and labor."

"Thanks." It took a second before Tommy figured out a good angle to hold his hand to return the shake, but he managed it. A paying gig was a paying gig. Even if it was for a cat. "Depending on how busy I am at the clinic I can get the supplies tomorrow or Friday. Come over on Saturday to start."

"See you Saturday then," Tommy said.

[ooc: No prob. My work day blew up so it was just as well.]

Orlin walks past the talking cat and man. He shakes his head and continues wandering the town, getting a mental map in his head.
A talking cat? Well all universes had their own pecularities
