Empire Records and Bidet [2/1]

Marc was still crashed out in their tour bus after their revelry last night, so Lucas went ahead and opened up on his own.

Today's mix was all about the angry girl bands, featuring Le Tigre, Brat Mobile, Sleater Kinney, and Pretty Girls Make Graves.

Lucas read the sports pages at the sales desk to keep a proper balance between screaming estrogen and testosterone.

Paige wandered in around 3pm having finished her classes for the door, more excitingly from a store owners point of view this time she'd come with money and the intention of buying stuff, she also had muffins, since she had a sneeking suspision Mark and Marc might be peckish.

She looked around for a moment then wondered over to the import section ~~so Paige could listen to some of muns CDs~~

Lucas glanced up from his paper as he heard someone wander in, but the girl seemed to have an idea what she was looking for.

Marc could deal with her. If they ever woke up. . . .

Paige flicked through the racks of CDs until she found a Clor (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0009Y33TC/qid=1138817185/sr=2-1/ref=sr_2_11_1/202-7401261-8506261) and Maximo Park (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0007VXZJK/qid=1138817725/sr=2-1/ref=sr_2_11_1/202-7401261-8506261) CD then looked over at the guy, "what section would Depeche Mode be under?"

Lucas looked up and thought for a moment. "New Depeche Mode, or classic Depeche Mode?"

"The new one 'Playing the Angel,'" she almost laughed at the appropriateness of the title for her. "I have the classic stuff, unless you have anything rare? Cos that'd be cool."

"You can always check." Lucas sat up a bit and pointed. "Classic is over in the 80s alternative and new wave section. The new album should be in the 'they just keep going, don't they?' section by the door."

Paige smirked at the section the album was in and headed over before turning back, "thanks, I'm Paige by the way," she said and went to look through the CDs until she found the one she was after.

A music store? Orlin mused, he could definately do with some music to sooth him as he worked, maybe they would have something appropriate here. He begins leafing through the CD's waiting for something to catch his eye.

Lucas watched her go and smirked just a little. He recognized her now, she was the one Mark had been hitting on yesterday. It was good to know she was coming back to buy things, and not just to get more brownies and attention.

"Let me know if you need anything else," he called after her.

[ooc: he's not still naked, is he? I haven't had the chance to read over much of the other posts today, yet.]

She headed over to the counter with 3 CDs, "actually yeah, do you sell art supplies or just the art itself?" she asks looking around around again, not for Mark or Marc, honest!

"Just the art, currently, though I'm hoping to start a program for supporting local artists, selling their original work or prints." Lucas tilted his head and thought for a moment. "Perhaps All and Sundries will have what you need?"

He rang up the three CDs as he spoke.

"And, since you're already shaping up to be such a . . . loyal customer, I'll throw in a free custom button, if you want."

[he does have clothes, *magical handwavey thing* happened awhile ago, Orlin has clothing (and is buying more from snarky english guy, and now he wants music]

Paiuge smiles widely at the news of starting a program for artists, "Geoff was going to show of my work at his shop when I had enough ready, maybe I'll should bring some here too. And thanks I guess I'll try there next otherwise I guess it's a trip to the mainland for me."

Handing over her card she considers what she could possibly have put on a badge, then it comes to her, the triquetra like her tattoo.

"Yeah that'd be great thanks," she turns around and moves her hair out of the way to show him the tattoo on her upper back, "could you put something like this on one? Maybe with the letter 'P' in the middle?"

((btw you so don't actually have a badge, esp with the P))

[staring would have been hilarious but can Orlin get some assisstance now? he has no idea what he is looking for]

Mark had finally woken up from his Gwar-tribute-induced coma, and he practically bounced into the store.

He spotted the customer immediately, looked to see if Lucas would take him, was waved off by Lucas, rolled his eyes, and headed over to see if the guy needed anything.

"WelcometoEmpireRecordsandBidet,homeofallyourmusicalandsanitaryneeds,howcanIassistyou?"

Orlin looks up in amazement at this verbal barrage.
"I am sorry, what did you just say?"
Orlin thinks to himself why do I always get stuck with the loopy sales people?<.i>

Lucas studied the image for a long moment. He was pretty sure he could download something kinda like it, so he made a quick, really really bad sketch of the tattoo, and rang up the card. "Shouldn't be a problem. Come back tomorrow for it."

He glanced up and spotted Mark talking to another customer. "Your boyfriend has returned."

[ooc: beh! that's half the fun! if I get time, I'll make it tonight.]

Mark shruggled. "Can I help you?" He gave the guy a big ole shit-eatin' grin.

Orlin raises an eyebrow, insolence had never happened to him before. "I am looking for something similar to Enya, only more upbeat, similar to a salsa dance." He smiled slightly, as though amused, "You have something under your nose"

She grinned, "sure I work in town on Thursday anyway so I guess I'll see you tomorrow,"

Then she turns and sees Mark and blushes, "I erm...yeah, I was gonna leave these with you," she says gesturing to the bag of muffins, "but I guess since he's here, although a bought a few if you want want one," she continues offering the bag and figuring orbing out would be really really stupid at this point.

Lucas raised his eyebrow with a slight smirk. "That's very kind of you. Thank you." He took a muffin and considered calling Mark over. On the other hand, Mark was with a customer.

"He'll be leaving tomorrow morning, so you might want to go say 'hi'."

She looks at him again and looks down a moment, it's good that he's going, it means there's significantly less chance of Sawyer killing him.

She nods, "I'll wait till he's less busy, I don't wanna affect your business." she says going back to keep herself busy for a short while by looking at more CDs

Mark's eyes went wide and he scrubbed at his mouth. "You could, um, you could try Enigma, but they're not very salsa-y. Or Evannescence, but they're all poppy and moody. Or, um. . . ." His voice trailed off as he began to very obviously draw a big ole blank on upbeat, salsa, Enya-ish music. "You could, um, browse . . . and . . . new age . . . listening station . . . help . . ."

This last was directed to Lucas, who shrugged, shook his head innocently, and pointed to Paige, obviously indicating "I can't help, I'm with a customer". Mark made a series of bizarre gestures that might have meant "I'll help her, you help him". Lucas ignored him. Mark got desperate.

"Hey, do you like, um, metal? We have some great metal."
