The Park, Friday

He'd thought about opening the shop but couldn't bring himself to do it. If Kiki wanted to, was feeling up to it, he'd let her do it one last time. But for himself, he was going to the park instead.

So early in the morning, Aziraphale settles himself onto his favorite bench, next to the duck pond, with a sack of day-old scones. He's feeding the ducks, and possibly brooding just a little.

[OOC: Come talk to the broody angel not the broody Angel or use this for your own park purposes. Slowplaying until late evening EST.]

"It was my grandfather's," she says softly. "I know Angels don't need blessings, but it's thwice-blessed...by my Gramps, my mother and myself. I have the necklace from you...and I wanted you to have this. I think he'd approve."

Lunchtime

[personal profile] chasingangela 2006-02-03 03:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Angela has gone for a walk at lunchtime to clear her head before her afternoon of classes.

"Hi, Mr. Phale. Are they hungry today?," she asks, indicating the ducks.

She takes a seat on the bench. "Birds usually are," she agrees thoughtfully. "Like the gulls at the beach. They'll practically attack you for a piece of pizza, you know?"

Shoving her hands in her pockets, she adds, "Sorry I haven't been by the shop lately. I had, like, a month where I barely left campus. I'm getting over it."

"Not really," Angela says thoughtfully, not really in a mood to talk about her last month and a half. "Just busy. Classes, school stuff, all of that."

"How are you?"

Early afternoon

[identity profile] kikidelivers.livejournal.com 2006-02-03 04:24 pm (UTC)(link)
After class and lunch, Kiki comes down to the park with a bag of bread loaf-heels. Without a word, she stands beside Aziraphale, rips off bread chunks and tosses them to the one group of creatures in Fandom probably more successful on milking delectable edibles out of the citizens than even Jiji and Pogo. Enjoying this last feeding with her friend, savior, and foster-father, she finds she doesn't need to say anything.

It's all been said already.

Kiki smiles and takes the seat, her shoulder against his, and swinging her red-shoed feet a little. She rips off another hunk of bread and quietly drops it in front of one small lady mallard that seemed to keep getting shouldered out.

Tossing another crust of bread, Kiki leans her head against his arm and watches the ducks as they scramble for it.

"Hello Aziraphale," Orlin says as he saunters over to the bench, "Relaxing before you have to go?"

[identity profile] ascended-being.livejournal.com 2006-02-03 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Orlin looks thoughtful as he joins Aziraphale on the bench. "You know," he says at last, "You never truely leave a place you love, it stays with you, always."

[identity profile] ascended-being.livejournal.com 2006-02-03 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Orlin nodded in understanding. "The friends we have are what make us who we are, as have the communities we have been a part of"

Early Afternoon, shortly after Kiki

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-02-03 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Anders is too restless to stay on campus much longer after lunch and a trip to the clinic, so cracked ribs be damned, he's out wandering through the park. He's taking it easy, of course, and as much as he wants to break out into a run he keeps his pace easy and slow. When he sees Aziraphale by the duck pond, he realizes with a sharp pang of guilt that he and Cally never did come out and feed the ducks again like they promised they would, that night a few months ago.

Hands in his pockets, he slowly meanders up toward the bench. "Hi, Mister Phale. I, uh, don't know if you remember me, but, um, hi." Somehow speech is completely failing him today.

"She's doing great," says Anders, smiling as he takes the proffered scone and the seat on the bench. The ducks' quacking distracts him for a moment, and he crumbles off some of the scone for them, laughing quietly. "Best thing that ever happened to me, actually. Don't think I would've realized it, either, if not for that night when we met you and your friend out here. I mean, okay, it kind of shook me up at the time, but now, looking back? That's not a bad thing. At all."

"You were. You made me stop and think about how serious I wanted to be with her. Oh, and I got into that sports league I was talkin' about, too. I can't go until after I'm done with school, though, so that gives us time to figure out what to do after that."

Half of the piece of scone in Anders's hand suddenly crumbles off and falls into the middle of the small throng of ducks. He looks up, startled. "You are? Like, for good?"
