All Hail Mayor Tex!
There are days when you just know waking up is going to suck. For Tex it usually comes in the form of someone singing down the radio. Okay, not usually but it does this morning.
Blinking, she grabbed it from the night table and picked it up. "Appo, that better not be you."
Sadly enough it is and he continues to sing during the entire message. "Tex, we've got a situation at the causeway to the mainland."
"What sort of situation?" Tex asked tersely as she sat up in bed. She should get paid for this.
"Some citizens are trying to move all medication back to the mainland." Tex prayed he wasn't yodeling, but it sounded suspiciously like it.
"Keep them there," Tex growled and got up. "And stop that fucking singing."
"I can't, sir!"
Tex rolled her eyes and quickly donned her armour. As quickly as you could put on MJOLNIR armour. A bit later she was out on the causeway. The citizens looked appropriately terrified and intimidated. It didn't take much to convince them to let the troopers unload the truck and move all the meds to the school clinic.
When twenty minutes later, Tex got to hear the radio, she thoroughly had it. Not that she could blame Aeryn for her actions, but this had gone far enough. This had to end and as the elections seemed to have come to a grinding halt due to another opponent, it seemed there was only one course of action.
Tex went up to the Town Hall and installed herself in the mayor's office. No one seemed to have the heart to argue with her and she could live with that. Whether the ducks would, that was a different matter.
Let it be known that there is a newusurper mayor in town. Elections be damned, but that's just the way things go in Fandom.
