Jeff god of Biscuits, brunch

Tex still wasn't sure why she had listened to Appo and organised this brunch. She suspected that it had to do with the fact that he had sung the suggestion to her and she really just wanted him to shut the fuck up. At least he had the intelligence to keep quiet right now, even if from the sound of it he was biting his tongue to keep from suggesting her to hold a speech or something.

Another muffled noise and she rolled her eyes. "Fine," she grumbled and took a step forward.

"Oi! I'm Tex, I'm your new mayor and this brunch is on me. Now go eat and if I hear anyone so much as hum, I'm banning you from the island."

With a glare to Appo who seemed to look pretty perky even in armour, she sat down at one of the tables and decided to ignore the trooper Commander for the rest of the day. Seriously, he even made her leave her armour at home. This was so much worse than Church.

GOB was in a good mood. It was a good mood that would only be improved by baked goods. So he took a walk over to Jeff's only to see a bunch of armored people eating. "Huh," he said.

Since she was the only person around without armor or, apparently, the male reproductive organ, GOB was naturally drawn to Tex. "Morning," he said. "What's going on here?"

"Good morning! Please, accept a small token of my appreciation of your stern and law-like ways!" Wonka held out a small box of exclusive chocolates towards her, looking hopeful.

Blair bounced into the shop and looked around before stepping up. "Good morning! I didn't really even know we had an old mayor, but congratulations!"

Archie hadn't known about the brunch; he had only thought it might be a good idea to come down and get some scones and muffins. But now that he was here, well . . .

"Mayor Tex," he said, standing at attention. He didn't salute, though he did bow his head respectfully.

"Are you the new mayor?" Orlin asked as he walked up, balancing a plate of food in one hand, "I only ask because you seem to be the only person in here who holds themselves with authority." He smiled engagingly.

Walter and Victor walked in to the shop, ready to eat. Victor waved at the new mayor and said, "Hey!"

The troopers had sung "she" and this woman appeared to be the one to whom everyone was paying court. He had opted for the semi- somewhat- not at all traditional gift in his time of a large cellophane wrapped basket of delicious treats (http://www.winebasket.com/product_detail.cfm?pid=78). Because one really couldn't go wrong courting the favor of someone who typically wore large scary armor, and from what he had observed of large scary armor woman last weekend, was not someone he wanted annoyed with him.

It wasn't a bribe - he didn't have an agenda yet. It was a bit of good will building.

"Good day and congratulations on your mayorship, my Lady."

GOB took some food and sat as far away from the new mayor as he could for fear of death.

He nodded to the trooper next to him. "Good morning." GOB thought for a moment and added, "Ma'am."

Wonka politely snagged the sweetest thing on the table, before setting down his basket of chocolates. He hadn't known where exactly to send the chocolates for the troopers, so he was hoping to run into "his" trooper today.

Victor grabbed an almond poppy seed muffin and some orange juice to start, then sat down at a window seat and waited for Walter to join him.

Zhaan pointed at the table, where Batou set down the large silver perkolater she'd made him lug to the brunch. Not being completely evil, it wasn't full of water, a situation she quickly amended by corraling several pitchers and utilising them.

The dog made a grumbly noise and settled under the table to eye the crowd while Zhaan filled the top with her special breakfast tea blend and started the contraption working.

"Coffee's better," Batou muttered, scowling at the leafy leftovers Zhaan packed away.

"Perhaps," a smile graced Zhaan's lips as she looked around at the assemblage. "I believe you should mingle."

Batou grumbled and eyed a corner.

A chuckle escaped Zhaan, "You need more social interaction, but perhaps today will not be the beginning."

The dog made a little yawn and fell asleep. Zhaan checked the tea, then wandered off to congratulate Tex. And Batou headed for his corner.

Archie looked over the food for a while, finally selecting several crumpets scones and what looked like a cream brioche, then helped himself to some coffee and took a seat near the door.

Free food? Always a good thing. Especially considering what Tommy's bank account looked like at the moment.

He snagged coffee and a jelly donut and waited for the addictions he was allowed to have to kick in.

Fraser's not really hungry but he does take a small helping from the buffet because the mayor had gone through the trouble and it was a very kind gesture.

She tried not to giggle at the Trooper sticking a cruller up under his helmet.

Grrr. Bad browser. Ahem. As I said, in the now-deleted comment, Batou was god-modded with permission, and we're here in support as I think this is a fabulous idea. However, we're not going to be very responsive (slowplay..) as a friend came in from out of town to visit.
