The Beach: Nine in the morning: Sunday

Maia sat on a bench overlooking the ocean's grey waves. She didn't want to actually go down onto the beach and get all sandy but this was nice. The weather was warming up a little after last weekend's terrible snow storm. Taking a deep drink from her hot chocolate Maia took a bite of her scone. Aziraphale was gone, Buffy was gone, Paige was staying with her, Lana was at the hotel...Maia frowned and Chiana was being quieter then usual.

Paige was walking Cash, or rather he was walking her, she'd given up on trying to get him to go the way she so now she was just letting herself be pulling along by him.

He stopped close to Maia and Paige smiled, "I have a dog!"

Maia turned around and smiled. "Hi Cash, I baby." She sat down her cup and nuzzled the dog. "Hi baby." She kisses his head. "I was wondering what was going to happen to him." Maia grinned up for her spot on the ground with Cash.

"I guess Geoff's going to be looking after him once he gets back." she frowns, "I might stay in the shop a little while when he does. Make sure everything's okay it might get busy now it's almost Valentine's Day and I know Geoff's busy."

Maia nodded scratching Cash behind the ears. "I think that would be a nice idea." She patted Cash's snout. "Would you like that? Would you like if auntie Paige stayed with Daddy Geoff?" She said to the dog. "Never mind Auntie Maia missing her like hell, no, no she doesn't mind that at all." Maia grinned wickedly.

Paige smirked, "I'll still be about, it's just well there are a few reasons why I'm better off staying in town for a little while. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna have to move in though, not that I really see why I should have too, it was my place first damn it." she says getting a little angry now and reaching down to pet Cash to calm herself.

Maia flashed a frown at Paige. "Well you can move in with me if you need to or we can go to the principal and tell them to make Sawyer move out and you and I could live in the attic." She rubbed Cash's head harder. "Cash could stay with us sometimes."

"That's a pretty good idea actually, yeah that makes more sense, he doesn't deserve to have the attic all to himself. I mean I messed up but he's totally overreacted, it was one kiss! Plus we need the seperate rooms more than him don't we?"

She sits down and looks at Cash a moment, "I'm not sure how Lancelot would take that, I need to go get him actually, I doubt James is looking after him properly."

"Yeah well he doesn't tend to react well to any kisses ones or twos." Maia said remembering New Years. "Yeah the asshole I am sure isn't. If its a problem Cash can sleep on in my room if Geoff needs us to take care of him for anything. That way Lancelot won't get upset."

"I can't believe I covered up for him, I told him this was it, his last chance I just needed some time to think about what I wanted, but could he give me that? No, he had to kick me out of my own room and trash the place. He's got no clue." she says angrily

"I'll see how he is before I bring it up, I'll just do whatever he wants me to I guess, unless he wants me to leave him alone of course, cos I'm not doing that, I'll sleep outside the shop if I have too."

"Heartbreak is a terrible thing and most certainly for a poet I would imagine." Maia whispered, "Maybe I'll see if Geoff wants to play poker." Frowning at Sawyer's mentioning she nodded "Yeah he's not right Paige."

"I'm pretty sureit's not that easy for anyone but yeah poker might be good. I'll test the water when he gets back and let you know okay? I think he'd like that though" she says only vaguely aware she's talking about Geoff a little like his a child that needs protecting.

"and yeah he's not, I still love him, but...he needs help, serious mental help."

"Yeah he really does Paige." Maia sat up from petting Cash now and looked out at the waves. "I don't want him hurting you Paige. I can't let him do that to you."

"He so much as lays a finger on me or any of my friends ever again and he'll be very very sorry, I will orb him to the other side of the world and I don't care how much trouble I get in."

Maia was surprised by the tone of Paige's voice but pleased to hear her use it. She nodded, it was what he deserved afterall, he created this mess and now he was going to have to clean it up or lose everything he hadn't already. Maia laid her hand on Paige's knee and looked out at the ocean again.

She smiled slightly and put her arm round Maia as Cash sat patiently enjoying the attention he was getting from them both.

"I've not been up here before, it's nice." she said drawing patterns in the sand with her feet.

Maia laid her head on Paige's shoulder and nodded, teasing her foot with sand. "Its peaceful."

"Peaceful? The word rings a vague bell," she replies with a smirk.

Maia took her hand from Cash's head and put it around Paige's waist and continued to lay her head there. "Yeah." She whispered, "Listen to the waves empty out your head of everything, every image and word." Maia's voice was almost hypnotic as she said it, her eyes staring out into the waves.

[OOC: Just read this and have to say... awwwww. Lovely scene with my puppy involved. Thank you *g*]
