Cafe Fina, 2/5 open for dinner

Sunday evening and Walter is not humming, singing, or dancing today.

The candles are lit, the flowers have been replaced with sprays of various fragrant herbs in vases, and Cafe Fina is open for business.

Your table is waiting. There is no menu, we'll make anything.

A hand clasped Walter on the shoulder. "Everything running well?" Alfred asked.

Walter spun around and looked up at Alfred. "Yes, sir. Everything has been going smoothly." Barring outbursts of singing, of course.

"Singing aside, I assume," Alfred said. "Everything else alright, then? The radio brodcast was somewhat cryptic, but I gather you though someone was an ametuer?"

Bollocks.

"I had a row with another student."

Alfred raised a disapproving eyebrow. "When you say row, I'm going to assume that it didn't escalate into a fight. At least, I hope I can assume that it didn't escalate into a fight. What happened?"

"We did not fight with anything other than words." He really didn't want to talk about this with Alfred.

"I said some things I should not have. I was angry."

Alfred did not say anything. He merely continued to stare at Walter disapprovingly.

It was a stare that would make lesser men feel as though they needed to immediately take a shower and change into a suit, no matter who they were.

At least he was showered and in a suit, although he did glance at his shoes to make sure the polish was still sufficiently mirror-like.

"You are waiting for details, sir?" Walter drew himself up and met Alfred's disapproving stare, albeit with a great deal of effort. "I was angry because some students went vampire hunting and were hurt. I still think they should not have been there, but I handled it wrong. Talking to another student afterward helped me see that."

"And have you spoken to the student you had a row with?" Alfred asked.

"No, sir."

Alfred continued to stare at Walter.

"Then isn't there someplace you should be?"

"I should leave the restaurant now, sir?"

"Should? No. That implies a command. And I cannot make you apologize for something. But I would highly advise it. And I would highly advise finding the student."

"Yes, sir. Then if it is acceptable to you, I will go do that."

Alfred slowly nodded.

Walter left with remarkable alacrity.

One of the two unusual ordering options is allowing Walter to choose something for you that he thinks you will like.

Sign up for that here and what your character might like. If you'd like for him to be a bit off, go for it, he's still a trainee.

If you'd like him to be wayyy off, go with option #2.

Alfred is in charge now that Walter has been sent off on his errand of apology.

Unlike Walter, Alfred is a butler-fu master, so he won't get the order wrong.

Orlin is hungry.

Alfred saw Orlin enter and darted into the kitchen. As the former ascended being sat down, he appeared at his table with a plate.

"House specialty, sir. Macaroni and cheese cake. Sparkling peach cider to wash it down as well. If you need dessert, feel free to let me know."

"Actually," Orlin said, "Could I get chocolate ice cream instead?"

Alfred grabbed a plate from a passing waiter and placed it on the table. On it was a bowl filled with chocolate ice cream. "Of course, sir. But I reccomend the macaroni and cheese cake on your next visit?"

He picked up the dish and left Orlin to his meal.

"Oh no, I think you misunderstood me." Orlin said hurridly. "I would still like macaroni, but the ice cream instead of the cheesecake?" He looked hopefully at Alfred.

"Ahh, my mistake," Alfred said. He showed the plate. "Macaroni and Cheese Cake. Macaroni and Cheese in the shape of cake."

Orlin gave up. The eccentrities where endearing, if anything,

"Thanks you" he said half heartedly.

The other unusual ordering option is to go with allowing Walter to provide what you want before you even ask.

Because he is a butler-fu trainee, he's definitely going to have slip-ups. If you'd like to help Walter with his training and potentially embarrass him while you're at it, let me know what you'd like here.

If you want him to get it right, let me know what he should provide. If you want him to get it wrong, let me know what he should provide to be dead wrong. If you want him to do it and be hit or miss, let me know and I'll give it a guess.

Alfred is now minding the store. If you want him to divine what you want before you eat it, ping him here. Unlike Walter, Alfred is a Butler-fu master, and is much more likely to get it spot on.
