Caritas--Wednesday--Openish

After receiving an early morning phone call from a traumatized Tino about Lorne's abrupt departure, Jarod made his way over to Caritas, where he spent the day trying to understand the bar's recordkeeping system, the ordering and bookkeeping, and the magic.

$400 a week to keep the zombie band in fresh brains? He had no idea whether that was expensive or not. Maybe he'd ask Veronica. $1000 a quarter for sanctuary spell maintainence seemed a bit steep as well. Hmmm.

As for the bar itself? Without Lorne, it seemed to have lost some of its sparkle and luster.

[ooc: No readings, obviously, but anyone who wants to come in and drink, sing, hang out, or buy something for shop class is welcome. Also? This is a morning/afternoon/early evening post. I'll make another Caritas post later. Fear the OCD.]

After sixth period, John heads into town in attempt to find some of his survival kit stuff. Caritas might have the first thing he's looking for...

"Afternoon!"

"Hmm." John pulls out his gift card thingy. "I'm doing this thing for a class and was wondering if you sold matchbooks? Maybe?"

"Oh, thanks!" John takes the packets and pockets them. "I owe you one, dude. And your singing rocked the other night."

After the record store, Sam walked into Caritas and made a beeline for the bartender, who looked like he was busy doing something. "You're Parker's friend, right?"

Sam shook it. "Hi, Jarod. I'm Sam Carter. Nice to finally meet you. Parker talks about you all the time."

Sam shook her head, refusing both drink and karaoke. "I'm just here for a quick stop, really. Would you be willing to sell me a bottle of vodka for a class? A small one, preferably."

Parker came by some time in the afternoon, hoping that Lorne would be back already. Instead, she gets Jarod playing with numbers.

"Did you know he was leaving?"

"Damnit. I was hoping, he seemed to expect it, but--" Parker sat down and gave him a morose look. "He didn't say when he would be back!"

Nadia couldn't believe how much stuff she'd managed to get for shop class so far, and still have money left over . . . .

Seeing as Caritas was still open, she headed in to see about securing the last item on her list.

"Hey, Jarod," she said. "How much vodka can I get for $2.50?"

"Yes." Nadia blinks. Apparently her fellow classmates were also thinking molotovs. Or possibly antiseptic. Or pain reliever. Or all three, like she was. "That's not too bad, I'll take it." She pulled out the credit card. She was pretty sure she was still managing to be a few cents below her $20.00 limit, too!

I am so glad "raging hose beast" finally got used in a conversation.

It's a beautiful term. It should be used everyday and with gusto.

Is there a requirement on how much flair you have to wear at Caritas?
