"Well I can definitely say that the muffins are good." Isabel said as they approached the counter. After a quick study of the menu, she ordered an egg salad on wheat and a fruit cup. "Hopefully this will be as good."

"Mmm. God knows their cheesecake is." Parker ordered a club sandwich, then headed for a table by the front window. "So how are the preparations for Game Night coming along?"

"They're coming along pretty well. ~~I'm being incredibly OCD.~~ I do need to put up some more posters tonight. I hope people come for it." She shrugged, "Nerves, I suppose."

"I think you will-- two weekends of monsters and partying and monster-partying in a row, and I think people want to stay in." Parker grinned. "Less effort, we're all tired." Settling into a chair, she added, "So what do you have lined up?"

"It sounds silly, but Monopoly. ~~Complete with OCD icons.~~ I think it's an easy enough game for everyone to play. But at the same time, the competition can become pretty fierce." Isabel took her own seat and opened her bottle of water. "I just hope there's no singing. Unless someone gets sent to jail and feels like singing 'Jailhouse Rock'."

"That sounds like something Mitchell would do. Or Jack." Parker smirked. "And yeah, it's easy enough the aliens shouldn't have a problem with it." She shook her head ruefully. "I'd hate to see what they'd make of Risk. Especially someone like Aeryn Sun. That could get ugly."

"That would be entertaining. Particularly if they really felt the need to imitate Elvis, complete with hip motions." Isabel grinned as her mind went to a happy place of interesting visuals.

"I've been trying to think of them when I plan stuff. For March, we're planning on a trivia night. So I'm trying to collect some intergalactic trivia from people. Just to even the odds a bit." She took a bite of the sandwich, which really wasn't that bad. "Aeryn playing Risk would be very, very scary. I'll have to make sure she plays that night."

"I'll be on the sidelines, thanks. With popcorn." Parker frowned. "I can see I'm going to have to pump the intergalactic contingent for info, then. I like winning Trivial Pursuit games. I'd hate to have my record broken." She smirked.

"Okay, now, I'm really wishing we could have another karaoke night in the lounge, just see the guys being Elvis." Parker waited a second as their food was delivered, then added, "Jack's birthday is next week, you know. I need to check with CJ, and see if she has anything planned for him. That should be a trip."

"I was actually thinking of having teams instead of individuals. What do you think of that? If you get the right teammates you could kick serious butt."

The egg salad was missing something, so Isabel pulled a tiny bottle of Tabasco out of her bag and sprinkled some on her sandwich. "Jack's birthday is next week? Hmmm, I'll have to go find him something silly as a present."

"I was thinking singing a Marilyn-Monroe Happy Birthday to him, but I don't think I can do that if C.J.'s going to be there." She grinned wickedly. "Maybe later, though."

She blinked at the tabasco sauce. "Spicy egg salad? Is that any good? And you're right, teams would be the fairest and most fun way to go with the Trivia Bowl. I'll definitely be there. Assuming I don't have some StuCo-mandated thing going on."

Isabel raised an eyebrow, "You and Jack? I didn't know that." Then she laughed, "I could see where a Monroe impression in front of his mom would be a bit weird. Of course I had to face her in class the morning the radio talked about me visiting his room with a can of whipped cream." And because she didn't want Parker to think anything went on, she held up her hands, "It was totally innocent. You know how the radio twists things."

"It's from living in New Mexico," she said, gesturing at the sandwich. "We like things spicy. And I like that idea, Trivia Bowl! Thank you!"

Chewing and swallowing, Parker said, "Sure, take it. Trivia Bowl, I've probably heard it somewhere." She grinned.

"The whipped cream was totally innocent? With Jack? He must be slipping." Parker grinned. "Relax, we're not exclusive. Jack's far too flirty to want just one person, and I just got out of dating someone. How'd C.J. take it, though? Did she hear the broadcast?"

"Oh good, I wouldn't want you think I was poaching. Which I wasn't. Because that's just wrong." Isabel grinned, "He is a flirt isn't he? But if you're both okay with it then good for you. I guess this means you won't be lonely for Valentine's Day?"

"As for CJ, I lucked out. I guess she didn't hear the broadcast ~~It was one of CJ mun's hell days~~ because she didn't say anything." She looked a bit sheepish, "It didn't stop me from blushing through half the class."

Parker laughed. "Oh, God. Take that blushing, then multiply the discomfort factor by five, and now you know how I felt when she made me breakfast after my first night with Jack. She was actually really cool about it, but wow, I would've rather avoided it."

"Lonely on Valentine's Day." Parker contemplated that thought, then grimaced. "You know, I hate that phrase. If Jack and I do something, I can guarantee it won't be a big deal. I'll probably get flowers from one old boyfriend, then gorge on chocolate. Or try to kiss one more guy I haven't kissed yet." She cocked an eyebrow. "So, your roommate. Is he too intimidated by me to stand still if I tried?"

Isabel facepalmed. "Oh no. I would have died of embarrassment. 'Hi, I just spent the night with your son, I'll have my eggs over easy, thank you'."

"Kissing Xander?" She burst out laughing. "I think you'd have to move fast at first but then he'd be so shocked I don't think he'd be able to move away. But don't tease him too badly, he's too sweet."

"It was an omelette. And his dad, the Doctor? Was there too. Talking about poetry. As morning afters go? It wins the prize on bizarre."

"Awww, I like Harris. He's a good sport, and he didn't give me up to Blank for a prank I pulled yesterday." Parker looked mischevious. "I just have this ambition to kiss almost every guy who doesn't make me gag by the end of the semester. And Xander's not hard on the eyes." She cocked her head at Isabel. "So you're not interested in the roomie for yourself? Got someone else in mind?"

"Oh my, even more fun." Isabel shook her head. "Fortunately, or unfortunately, however you want to look at it, I've never had the opportunity to have that problem."

"Xander's sweet and cute. Maybe if I wasn't his roommate? At this point, just from sharing space, I treat him more like my brother. ~~Plus there's the little matter of his admiration of the Mountie and his hat.~~" She shrugged, "There's one or two people that have intriguing potential but no, there's no one specific I have in mind at the moment."

"Ah. Well, when you do? Order in. That's the best advice I can give you." Parker smiled. "And I get the brother thing. I'd think you'd have to, in self-defense from weirdness. ~~And where does the frog come into it?~~ Then Valentine's Day is just another day for you too," she added. "God, I can't believe we're having a dance for it. I think I'll skip it, unless Jack says he definitely wants to go. Then I'll go just to watch him flirt with people."

"I will definitely keep that in mind," Isabel laughed. "I'm sure it's awkward enough without having spectators."

"Yeah, just another day. If I was home, maybe Alex and I would have done something but here? I think I'll just buy myself some chocolates and watch everyone else, ~~From what I understand, there's going to be emo~~. Come to the dance. Peter and I are planning on being vaguely bitter and mocking people. It should be fun."

"Alex?" Parker swallowed a bite of her sandwich, and smiled. "Boyfriend, ex, or friend? And now you've got me intrigued-- the picture of you and Petey boy being bitter might be worth showing up for all on its own. Not that you won't have company."

Isabel took a bite of her fruit cup, using the time to try and come up with a simple answer. "Alex was, is a friend. Actually he's a lot like Xander believe it or not. We were...something, I don't know what, but then I ~~found out about Destiny and my betrothed husband~~ left to come here."

"I think I talked Peter into coming to the dance strictly for the mocking potential," she said, grateful for the change in subject. "But if it's too sappy, I'll probably cut out early."

"Right there with you. If anyone requests any song from Top Navy Pilots, I am outta there." Parker shrugged. "I don't know, Valentine's Day seems like a cheap way to get out of being romantic the rest of the year-- if you're good at romance, you do the flowers and music anyway, and if you're not? It ends up looking lame on February 14th. I may be biased though. I'm not much into poetry or declarations of undying love."

"Exactly! It's a holiday that's a holiday only because the greeting card and floral industry saw a way to make more money! I'd rather have a simple flower just because then a dozen roses as a result of a marketing ploy."

Isabel sighed, "Of course I usually did get something for Valentine's day when I was dating someone, so this year is a bit different. I might just be trying to talk myself into a good mood."

"Hang out with Pete and the rest of us, and you won't miss it so much. And if there's any kind of romantic fight at the dance? You'll be glad you're single." Parker wiped off her mouth with the napkin, and finished her glass of water. "Ready to be exam'd by Dr. Pierson?"

"As I'll ever be. Thanks for coming to lunch though. This was fun."

Picking up her trash, Isabel got to her feet and started to head towards the door.

"My pleasure. I needed the break. We need to do this again." Parker smiled, and put her shades back on as they headed back to the school.
