Fandom Trooper Station (formely known as police station)

The siege on the Sin was lifted as Tex, her troopers and a figure covered by a blanket moved out into the street. It wasn't too hard to guess who was underneath the blanket if you had heard the radio. There was no time for questions, the troopers moved fast and a little while later, Darla was shoved into a cell inside the station.

Tex tilted her head and watched the vampire. If it was up to her, she'd just stake her and be done with it. Appo however insisted that wasn't how things were supposed to work in a democracy. Then again, it wasn't like Tex got elected or anything.

((This is where you go if you need to talk to Darla. Don't expect to get a warm welcoming from Tex, though.))

Darla shrank into the back of the cell, as far away from any possible daylight as she could get. She eyed Tex, and figured that neither bargaining, begging or bribary was going to work with this one. She still have Jarod's crumbled shirt and pulled it around her, hiding as much of her soiled white dress as possible. "And now what do we do?" she asked, her voice harder than it was with Jarod. "Wait for a heavenly chorus of angels to come and pass judgement on me?"

Which is when Lilah walked in, annoyed beyond belief at the entire situation. She wiggled her jaw automatically. "It helps to have connections."

"They might be," Lilah said, under her breath. "Anyway, I'm here to find out what the hell's going on with my employee."

[identity profile] lilah-esq.livejournal.com 2006-02-10 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"Employee in a manner of speaking. She gets paid, but there's minimal work involved in the position. Not unlike holding elected office."

Lilah sent a warning glare in Darla's direction. She'd keep her mouth shut if she knew what was good for her.

She sneered. "The woman's a vampire. Kind of in the job description to attack anyone who's stupid or gullible enough to go near her."

"Was it your town when she did it?" Lilah asked, "Maybe this is all just a misunderstanding. She'd be happy to make restitution, or Wolfram and Hart would do so on her behalf."

[identity profile] lilah-esq.livejournal.com 2006-02-10 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Lilah made a face, not at all pleased with being down at the groveling end of the power spectrum. "I don't believe that will be necessary."

"Fine." She rolled her eyes, but was unwilling to believe that a deal couldn't be struck. "What needs to be done to get her the hell out of there before she just decides to bend the bars and walk out, starting a manhunt that'll be more of a pain in the ass than anything else?"

[identity profile] lilah-esq.livejournal.com 2006-02-10 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Lilah chose not to answer that. She'd just gotten her jaw repaired, after all.

She looked over at Darla. "So, how're things?"

[identity profile] vampire-darla.livejournal.com 2006-02-10 08:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Darla answered from the back of the cell. "You know that souling spell they did on Angelus? They did it to me, too."

[identity profile] lilah-esq.livejournal.com 2006-02-10 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
"Huh." So that opened a pandora's box, especially if it was true.

Lilah turned back to Tex and crossed her arms in front of her. "So, the way this works, in case no one bothered to tell you? She's got a soul now. She feels remorse and cares about what she's done. She didn't before."

She motioned with her eyebrows at Darla, trying to get her to play along. Guilt or innocence didn't matter, but Darla was no good to anyone locked in a cell.

Darla nodded emphatically, going along with what Lilah said, hoping she remembered what they'd discussed a month ago (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/511606.html). "A creature without a soul is incapable of feeling remorse. It's killing me, knowing what I've done, now that I have one."

[identity profile] lilah-esq.livejournal.com 2006-02-10 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
"She's really very sorry," Lilah said to Tex. "She'll make amends, but really, what do you care whether she repents in the cell or in the sewers?"

[identity profile] vampire-darla.livejournal.com 2006-02-10 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Darla kept her mouth shut and attempted to look repentant.

[identity profile] lilah-esq.livejournal.com 2006-02-10 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
"Look, remand her to my custody, and if she attacks a student, you can cut both our heads off."

It's not like she could die again, after all. What did she care?

[identity profile] lilah-esq.livejournal.com 2006-02-10 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, so this was an unexpected glitch in the plan. Money didn't work, offers of senseless violence didn't work, the try for sympathy was useless, and Tex wasn't willing to negotiate.

Lilah frowned and leaned against the wall by Darla's cell as she tried to come up with a new strategy.

[identity profile] vampire-darla.livejournal.com 2006-02-10 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Darla leaned next to her and muttered, "'Cut off both our heads'? That actually will kill me, you know."

[identity profile] lilah-esq.livejournal.com 2006-02-10 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
"Shut. Up." She hissed. "Did you not hear the loophole about the students? If you'd left them alone in the first place, we wouldn't be here."

[identity profile] lilah-esq.livejournal.com 2006-02-10 09:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Realizing she'd probably worn out whatever smidgen of welcome she'd had left, Lilah nodded curtly to Darla and walked out.
