Cafe Fina, Lunch Time

Cafe Fina is closed for lunch time as the sprinkler system is being installed from a mainland tech.

The help wanted sign is still up, though. And Alfred is supervising if you want to talk to him.

That's right. Walter had forgotten that Alfred would actually be paying him for working. It seemed more like part of the tutoring.

However, he showed up in the early afternoon for his paycheck and whatever else Alfred might have in mind.

"Oh, Walter, there you are. I'm afraid we'll be closed for lunch today. Some safety rennovations. I have your paycheck for you," he said, handing him an envelope. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his wallet. "And... here. For making you work extra while I was away. Think of it as a Valentine's Day bonus. Buy something nice for Victor." He handed him three crisp bills. Three, crisp, large bills.

Walter took the envelope and the bonus, not blinking at the large bills, although he did smile faintly. "Thank you, sir, that is very generous of you."

Hopefully Victor would be back to enjoy Alfred's generosity.

"Not at all," Alfred said. He turned suddenly. "No, I wanted the sprinklers over there! If you put them here they won't keep up to the fire codes!"

He turned back to Walter. "Sorry. I'm afraid it's rather busy right now. You're off until dinner tonight. Have a good afternoon, Watler."

"Thank you, sir. I will be back this evening." Walter didn't question, just ducked out as quickly as possible.
