Edmund is still enjoying his reading on the Victorian era. Those monarchs might never be sex symbols, but they gave real bang for the buck entertainment-wise. At least if you're as snarky as Edmund Blackadder.

The flower table has a new turnip bouquet to replace the one purchased by the polite young man with the odd hair. The sign with the guide to Victorian flower language is still behind the flower table, and the flower table is still laden with a variety of fresh flowers and herbs.

Next to the flower table is a small display of chocolates.

Baldrick is nowhere to be seen. If you use your nose, however, he is probably findable. Some brave soul is going to have to convince him to bathe someday. That won't be Edmund, though.

Jake walked in. "Hey! I need stuff."

"And this would be the place to find stuff. Did you have anything in particular in mind, or shall I pluck items at random from the shelves?"

Walter walks in and looks around, gravitating to the Valentine's display.

Ah, the boy who took so long putting up the posters.

Sadly, they went up, and Edmund is unable to snark about that particular shortcoming.

Jake considered it, then shook his head. "I have a list." He held the shopping list (http://pics.livejournal.com/courier_gavin/pic/000ss5q3) out toward the shop dude. "Do you have this stuff?"

Walter picks out every packet of Valentine's confetti that Edmund has in stock and brings them up to the counter.

"Good morning Mr. Blackadder. I will just use my store credit for these."

Edmund read over the list, presumably not seeing the other list, which would only amuse him anyway. "Of course. These are all simple items. The chocolates are right next to the flowers, everything else... perhaps I should have Baldrick assist you if you're in a hurry."

Blair walks in before classes and looks around. "Um, do you have any idea what to buy for a girl who you are taking on a fake date?"

"Yeesss," is Blackadder's only response as he rings up the confetti and drops it in a small bag.

"Do you want to earn more store credit?"

"A fake date?" Edmund raises an eyebrow and examines Blair like something he's about to dissect. "Would this involve money exchanging hands with your 'fake date'?"

Paige is all too aware it's Valentine's Day tomorrow as she enters the shop, but that's not really the important thing, the important thing is the preparations she has to do before she leaves and given her lack of knowledge of the fourteenth century it could take a while.

She sees Blackadder and wanders over, "hey Mr Blackadder, I was wondering if you sold muslin?" she asks as it's the first material that come to mind when she realised she'd be needed to make medieval clothing for herself.

"That'd be great, 'cause I have class..." Jake pulled out his mobile and glanced down at it. "...Soonish."

Walter looked up at Edmund and considered telling him to piss off, he worked quite enough and really didn't need money. But he was curious.

"That depends. What would you want me to do?"

Edmund snapped his fingers for Baldrick and read off the list to him. The smelly man wandered off into the aisles and returned in a few minutes with a basket containing everything on the list and a large turnip on top.

"Everyone wants turnips, sir."

"I'm not sure what you mean?" Blair bounced a little. "I'm buying her ice cream!"

"Paige my dear, you have just brightened my day considerably." Edmund gives Paige the genial smile reserved for the very wealthy or the young and beautiful.

"Of course we have muslin. Allow me to fetch it for you myself. You would not want Baldrick touching it, I'm certain."

The bouncing...

It had best not continue.

Edmund's eyebrow does a little dance, almost bouncing along with Blair.

"Given that Valentine's Day is tomorrow, perhaps something appropriate to the holiday?"

Paige grins, okay even if doesn't mean she's not had much attention lately and even from Blackadder it's a little flattering, plus it appears she's a sucker for any man not from this century.

"I try," she replies then bites her lip in thought, "I'm not totally sure how much I'll need it's for a dress, probably and erm is it very itchy?" cos that could be a huge issue.

Blair watched the eyebrows and bounced again to experiment. "Well, I don't want to get her anything to personal because she has a boyfriend. Are flowers too personal?"

Edmund pulled a batch of fliers from behind the counter and pushed them across to Walter.

"I want those to go up all over town and your school. Preferably first thing tomorrow. Will you have the time and the inclination?"

Parker gets lost among the shelves. It's worse than the Library, for god's sake. "Excuse me. I need to find a digital camera." And this guy better continue to pretend she didn't sing in here before, if he wants to make a sale.

Edmund pointed to the sign posted next to the flower display (http://home.comcast.net/~bryant.katherine/flwrmeanings.html). "Flowers have more meanings than 'oh you're a hot one, let me loosen your corset.'"

"No, my dear, most muslin is not itchy." Edmund's eyebrow apparently has an important meeting with his hairline based on the speed with which it heads that way.

"However, it is also not particularly opaque."

Blair bounced several times in a row, watching the eyebrows.

"Yeah, I know about the meanings and stuff. But I don't know if her boyfriend will just be angry that she got flowers and not care that they just mean friendship, you know?" He blushed a little. "This is just for science so there's not going to be any..you know..corset-loosening or stuff."

"The electronics items are here." Edmund pointed to a glass display case at the front of the store. "I'm not well versed in digital cameras, so I fear I cannot make a recommendation for you."
