Having received Alfred's message and really needing an excuse to get out, the Baron strolls into Cafe Fina for lunch, looking forward to a chat with his friend.

Alfred looked up. "Ahh, Baron. Take a seat at any table. I won't be a minute."

He darted inside to the kitchens.

The Baron raised an eyebrow at the other man's enthusiasm - yes, he could read Butler Body Language - and strolled over to his usual table for two, hopping up on the chair and leaning against the decorative scrollwork on the back of the chair, which made for a suitable seat for himself.

"Tell me, my friend," Alfred said, appearing behind the Baron and uncovering a tray. "Has your Japanese friend ever introduced you to sashimi?"

The Baron's nose twitched and his ears perked up, looking the most catlike he ever became. "No, she hasn't," he replied, only his immense poise keeping him from drooling and attacking Alfred's hand like a half-fed kitten.

"Then, my friend," Alfred said, placing the dish in front of the Baron. "You are in for a treat indeed."

Alfred poured him a cup of green tea and sat on the other side of the table, pouring himself a cup.

"Thank you," the Baron murmured, before attacking it, barely remembering to use cutlery. "Hmm, this is delicious," he murmured after devouring a piece half as large as his head.

"We may even try sushi next time," Alfred said, laughing. He sipped at his tea. "So, Baron. How goes it?"

The Baron swallowed before answering. "It goes well," he replied finally. "I seemed to have survived Valentines Day, which unexpectedly took over the island entirely. Things elsewhere seem to be in a holding pattern."

Alfred smirked. "We had some rather unsucessful dates here. And one rather sucessful one after hours. Such is the way of the holiday, I suppose."

"I have always wondered how a holiday devoted to love seems to spawn so much depression and break-ups," the Baron replied with a wee feline smirk.

Alfred shook his head. "It's a game for younger people, Valentine's Day. At least, they way they celebrate it," Alfred said. "Still, at least one couple came out alright. So I suppose it's something of a sucess."

"Cheers to them, then," the Baron said, lifting his own wee cup of tea in a small toast before sipping. "Do you ever feel out of place in Fandom, Alfred? No offense meant, of course, my friend, but you have to admit that you are no longer a teenager yourself."

[[No worries. I'm still slowplaying a Valentines date. *grin*]]

Alfred returned the toast and sipped at his tea. "Well, I do at times. I'm not sure if I'm the oldest resident, but I suspect that among the older human residents in what is very much a school town but..." He looked up at the school and smiled.

"I think it a good thing to be among youth. I know many who had their youth stolen from them. I know one such person all too well."

The Baron nodded, taking another sip. "The young have an air of inexpendable promise abouth them. But please, tell me more." So I have an excuse to scarf this delicious fish without having to hold polite conversation.

Alfred sighed in remembrance. "Have I ever told you about the family I served? And still do, in a way."

The Baron shook his head, looking interested, but didn't answer. Mmmm, fish.

[[But why . . . would you . . . want to . . . stop talking like . . . the . . . SHATNER? Good . . . night!]]

"The Wayne family. Out in Gotham City. I don't know if the news reached you. One of the most influential families in the country, and definitely the most influential in the city. Wayne Enterprises was, well, not run by them but own by them. Mr. Wayne was a doctor. He left the running of the company to more interested men. He and his wife had a boy Bruce. Wondeful child. And when Bruce was seven..."

He paused for a moment, trying to collect himself.

Alfred has seen far too many hangovers in his life to mistake them. He appears with two mugs. "Before you even order, sir, drink these."

One mug has a mix of things best better left unsaid.

The other has some water with a fizzing alka-seltzer in it.

Orlin comes in , closing door behind him gently to protect his head, sunglasses firmly in place to protect his light sensative eyes.

Alfred has seen far too many hangovers in his life to mistake them. He appears with two mugs. "Before you even order, sir, drink these."

Orlin drank obediantly, made a face, and gulped it down quickly.
"What was that?" He asked after he had finished the second, non weird tasting cup of liquid.

"Hangover cure," Alfred said. "A modified version of a Prarie Oyster. Now, is there anything I can get you to eat? Or shall I nip back there and see if there's anything good on the burner for the hungover man?"

"You normaly know what's appropriate, I'll trust your judgement." Orlin said.

Alfred nodded and disappared into the kitchen. In fifteen minutes, he returned. "An omlette with cheese and a nice light salad. Simple, filling, easy on the stomach." He left a pitcher of water and a glass. "Be sure to drink plenty of water. You need to replinish your electrolytes."

"Mmmm, omelette," Orlin said as he chowed down.

Maybe there should be a show.

Something with... bats, maybe.
