Wolfram and Hart, Tuesday Morning

Darla was still in jail. Lilah couldn't get her out.

Granted, Lilah was more upset about the latter than the former, but it didn't look good for one of Wolfram and Hart's employees to be stuck in the clink, no matter Lilah's personal feelings on the subject.

If anyone ever wised up and did a soul-check instead of taking Darla's somewhat tarnished word for its presence, the vampire's usefulness would be non-existent, except as filler in an ashtray. Even though she figured Rupert Giles probably had the very answer to her problem in his charming little bookstore (they were always charming, weren't they?), she'd have to find another way around, since he didn't seem enthusiastic about spending further time in her company.

She tried not to take that personally.

Lilah logged into the Wolfram and Hart intranet and began searching for "Souls, Verification of," "Spells, Interference with," then cross-referenced those results with available equipment and practitioners. The printed reams of paper showed her what she would be doing for the rest of the day.
