A butler, a mutant, and a pirate walk in to Sparky Repairs...

Walter looked over his shoulder for the mutant and pirate part of that equation.

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Pippi the pirate came in behind Walter the butler and looked around the shop.

"Cool."

He should have expected the two dawdlers would dawdle. He looked around a little and waved to Miss Clay. "Good afternoon."

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Pippi is delighted with the appearance of the dingbots.

"Oh! How sweet! Are these the little botty things I've heard so much about?"

[identity profile] walter-n-wires.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
"She's heard good things from me. The one you made for me has been brilliant and worked perfectly." He cocked his head. "I just wasn't expecting quite so much personality, but I like it."

[identity profile] walter-n-wires.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 08:31 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well, you might be amused to hear that the one you built for my boyfriend likes to chase balls of paper and bop them with its hammer." Walter's loosened up in the past couple of weeks and managed to say boyfriend without feeling too awkward.

"That's a very interesting question," Walter said, thinking about the matter. "Victor is a very playful person, though."

He picked up one of the bots on the counter and "tickled" it. "I would be happy to help you out if you ever wish to investigate that. It sounds like something that would be fun and educational." He threw in the latter since adults seemed to always want kids to get something out of their fun.

[identity profile] walter-n-wires.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Walter petted the bot on what seemed likely to be its head and let it get away. "My tutor insists that I observe everything and take notes. It is part of my training."

[identity profile] anole-x.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Victor came up behind Walter and took the robot from him. "Don't worry, fair robot! I shall save you from the tickling fiend!"

He smiled at Walter, then nodded at Pippi and Agatha. "Sorry I'm late."

[ooc: I have to get to PE, unfortunately, so let's just assume that Victor's here during the exchange and you or Walter can mod him if needed.]

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh yes!" she says, "I hear they're wonderful! Can I assume that you make things other then just these adorable little guys?"

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm in the market for a portable food storage and preparation setup. Something I can take on a small boat and then off-load for picnics. I'm quite strong, so it doesn't have to be very light... But it will be going on a small boat so weight is an issue."

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well, I had hoped for something like with a burner. I'm going to start a small charter service and have meals provided by Cafe Fina, so I was thinking something snazzy in case somebody wanted Bananas Foster (http://www.flickr.com/photos/hitshermark/37627449/) or something."

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
"No requirements for fule, other then I would like it to be cost effective. Yes, the boat is made of wood, but we wouldn't do much cooking on the boat I should think. And I'm shooting right now for three hour tours. So something that's insulated with a compartment for dry ice or something should do unless you've got a better idea."

[identity profile] walter-n-wires.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Walter listened to Pippi's request with interest. He'd never given much thought to outfitting a boat before and it was something he should learn.

He gave Victor a put-on sour look for taking away the bot he was tormenting, but grinned quickly.

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
"You'd do well to make note of this." said Pippi noticing Walter's interest. "You're going to be using this thing probably. Anything you'd like to add?"

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Pippi clapped her hands like young girls in old book often do when they are happy.

"That looks marvelous! Shall I get you some samples of the gas and dry ice that's available from All and Sundries so you can fit them accordingly?"

[identity profile] walter-n-wires.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
"For food preparation, the surfaces should be easily cleanable. There are some new lightweight materials that Alfred has in use at Cafe Fina that are both easy to clean and quite durable."

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well, now we need to stop at All and Sundries. Can we go to the music store as well?"

[identity profile] walter-n-wires.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
"Sounds like fun. I have more time before I have to be to work."

Because Walter would rather do almost anything, including kiss a grindylow, than be late to work.

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-02-23 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
"Great!" (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/656300.html?thread=25661356#t25661356)

[identity profile] walter-n-wires.livejournal.com 2006-02-24 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
"My pleasure, Miss Clay. I will call you with the specifications if that is alright." Walter bent to stare at a bot that was wandering across the counter and smiled at it.

"I am here for my own purposes as well as keeping Pippi company. I would like to commission another bot or three."

[identity profile] walter-n-wires.livejournal.com 2006-02-24 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes, I have phoned you before." Walter smiled. Perhaps she was the stereotypical forgetful genius.

"Two of them are for pranks, but harmless ones. The third is for my personal use, and I do not need them in any hurry, so please do not be concerned. Next Wednesday would be perfectly fine. As would next Friday if that would work better for you."

[identity profile] walter-n-wires.livejournal.com 2006-02-24 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
"You mean you could make a generic prankster bot? Oh that would be brilliant if you could do that. Otherwise, I would like one that can cling to the ceiling and knock on closed doors, and one that plays some of those annoying songs you cannot get out of your head."

He shook his head in response to her question about his bot. "I do not need an alarm clock. I would, however, like one that can take verbal notes for me and then transcribe them to paper if that is possible. My tutor wishes me to keep a journal of my observations, and that strikes me as a useful tool."

[identity profile] walter-n-wires.livejournal.com 2006-02-24 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
"Next Friday would be perfect." Walter smiled and nodded. "I think I can obtain recordings. I will have to ask around a bit, but I know quite a few resourceful people. Is there anything I else I can do to make things simpler?"

[identity profile] walter-n-wires.livejournal.com 2006-02-24 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
"In that case, I will contact you soon. Thank you, Miss Clay." Walter left her to her gears and pistons and whatever it was that made her bots tick.

"Will do!" she said.

[[ooc: Same here, until the Mun went on a low carb diet and the Mun's Mom started ordering her "gourmet" steaks and stuff from online sources as gifts and care packages. A small amount of dry ice can keep frozen food frozen for quite some time I've discovered.
