Aereopagitica, Thursday
Giles has opened the store.
Additionally, there is a small card in the window:
"Help wanted. Call 555-AREO to make an interview appointment."
Giles is thoroughly sick of the Latin. He's going for some lighter reading: Hollinshed's.

And a small baby pine tree in one hand.
He looks over at Giles and with a very serious look on his face says "I NEED TO KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT PINE TREE SEX!"
He may not realize he's shouting.

Giles straightened his glasses and took a closer look.
He hadn't lived through the seventies with the nickname 'Ripper' for nothing.
By Thisbe, I do believe he's stoned out of his gourd.
Giles took Martin by the arm, intending to lead him to one of the comfy chairs in the side room of the store.
"Pine tree sex? Oh, dear. I'll have to do some checking. Why don't you wait over here?"

"Bookstore, eh, Pine Tree Boy? Good choice. Gooooood choice!"
He poses by the door, keeping one eye on Marty and his pine tree, the other roving cheerfully about the shop.

"Ah yes!" he said. "Delightfully aromatic and piney!"

He looked over Martin's shoulder to Artie.
"Er, Artie, is it? I just recieved some more comic books if you're interested..."
no subject
"You want to smell my tree? It's very piney."
no subject
Giles leaned over and took a deep sniff. Yes. Definitely pine-like.

Giles leaned over and smelled it again.
Still pine.

"It rivals the pines of Oregon. It outdoes the fabled forests of the Black...er, Forest. It is truly a tree among, ah, trees."

"I *LOVE* YOU, MAN!"
no subject
"Yes, Martin, I'm, er...extremely fond of you, too."
no subject
Yes he was still hugging Giles.
no subject
"And thanks to your lovely little tree, I know exactly what they smell like."
no subject
Still hugging.

"This is a little awkward isn't it?"

"You wear a lot of tweed."
And with that Marty exits the shop, still carrying his pine tree.

"Mortimer?"
no subject
"My little buggy friend!" Artie presented one fist. On it, indeed, sat a rather large beetle.

Mortimer, however, took off into the air and started buzzing about the book store excitedly.
Artie jerked into a nearly normal standing position. "Mortimer! What are you doing? That's very impolite!"
He started chasing the bug.

She notices the help wanted sign in the window and wonders if she should ask the owner about it.
no subject
"Yes, miss? How may I help you?"
no subject
She hesitated. "And I was wondering about the help wanted sign in the window."
no subject
"Oh, yes. I'll be conducting interviews tomorrow afternoon (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/672564.html). Please stop by then." Giles smiled. It would be nice to have company in the shop.
