The streets of Fandom, Tuesday afternoon/evening

She had a new pair of boots to break in, and she had wayyyyyyy too much to think about, so Nadia went running.

Normally, when she ran to music, she'd opt to some of her old Argentine trance, but today was a moodier day than that, so she plugged in one of the sample CDs she'd snagged from Empire on her last shift. . . . Which seemed like it was decades ago, rather than just a week or so.

The odd mix of mellow and hardcore soon distracted her from the more pressing things on her mind and she set an easy, long strided pace through town.

Ivanova stepped out of the liquor commission, something big and sloshing clutched in her hand, and almost collided with the girl running by. The brown paper bag went flying out of her grasp and bounced but didn't break.

"No, it's alright," Ivanova murmured, reaching for the bag herself. "And here I thought I was supposed to lose coordination after I started drinking."

"I must have drank so much over the last week I'm saturated," Ivanova smirked, cradling the giant bottle under her arm. "I'll never be sober again. Not that I mind."

"Nope," Ivanova replied cheerfully. "That's why I'm buying the whiskey that comes in the plastic bottle."

"I was just thinking that," Ivanova murmured. "Well, I'll let you get back to your running and I'll go back to my drunken brooding."

Ivanova shook her head as she headed in the opposite direction. "Maybe I should have asked her to join me . . ."
