Cafe Fina, Tuesday
It had been, all-in-all, a rather invigorating walk.
Being British, Alfred views Paul Revere day as "The day of that noisy guy who screwed up our plans". Only in Alfred-ese.
Cafe Fina was open.

Dinner
Near the end of the Dinner shift
Re: Near the end of the Dinner shift
He switched to Monkey to greet Mr. Neilson. //Good evening, esteemed one.//
By the time they reach the table, Wadsworth will have placed a plate of Swedish meatballs at Pippi's place.
Re: Near the end of the Dinner shift
Mr. Neilson returned the bow and doffed his hat.
//Good evening whip-fingered-boy.// he says with an accent you somehow identify as posh. //You speak well.//
Pippi is not surprised at the meal waiting for her, but she is obviously pleased.
Re: Near the end of the Dinner shift
Turning to Mr. Neilson he smiled. //Thank you. May I bring you food?//
Re: Near the end of the Dinner shift
Re: Near the end of the Dinner shift
//I would be happy to bring that for you.//
Re: Near the end of the Dinner shift
"Yeah, that's the dish. If he wants to make himself sick before his big teaching debue that's his problem."
//You think everything will make me sick...//
Pippi ignored him and took a bite of her dinner.
Re: Near the end of the Dinner shift
While the sauce caramelized, he reached under the cart and pulled out his own meal, shepherds pie and put it on the table.
After adding banana liqueur to the butter and brown sugar, he peeled two bananas which somehow dropped already sliced pieces (http://www.gumbopages.com/food/dessert/ban-foster.html) out into the dish and added rum.
"This is the fun part." Wadsworth hovered nearby with a fire extinguisher while Walter dipped the heated liquor out of the chafing dish and poured it back in, setting it on fire to create a column of fire into the dish.
With a sprinkle of cinnamon on top to crackle orange in the blue flames, Walter sat down at his seat to wait for the fire go out and finally scoop some out over a very small quantity of ice cream for Mr. Neilson.
Re: Near the end of the Dinner shift
She also approved of any dish one sets on fire.
She tied a napkin around Mr. Neilson's neck as he hunkered down near his bowl and started to eat the warm Bananas Foster (Which, quite frankly is God's gift to man) with his hands... Because, well, monkey.
Re: Near the end of the Dinner shift
Re: Near the end of the Dinner shift
Mr. Neilson gave a small monkey nod.
//It's good practice for me also.// he said with mouth and hands full of Bananas Foster. //And practice makes perfect. Anything you would particularly like to talk about?//
Re: Near the end of the Dinner shift
Re: Near the end of the Dinner shift
//And... Candy rains from the sky.//
Re: Near the end of the Dinner shift
//So does green... stuff and corn. But it is very interesting here. Always new things to look at and do.//

And here he makes an noise that you don't understand at all.
//Which is a joke name... The word for your kind is a reference to the fact that you cover yourselves. So others of my kind gave me a name that sounds a bit like "human" because I wear clothes. But it turns up at the end like the word for "monkey". So my name is "Humon".//
Re: Near the end of the Dinner shift
He looked over at Pippi, not wanting to exclude her. "How are your meatballs?"
Re: Near the end of the Dinner shift
//How is your bowl of food for people that watch sheep?//
Re: Near the end of the Dinner shift
//The party the day after tomorrow will be fun. I asked my mentor about the flat layered thing cooker and he said yes.//
Re: Near the end of the Dinner shift
Mr. Neilson is nothing if not amused at their translations.
Re: Near the end of the Dinner shift
He didn't want to talk to a monkey about sandwiches and get snickered at, now did he?
He stopped and went back over that thought...
Re: Near the end of the Dinner shift
Re: Near the end of the Dinner shift
Walter looked at his empty dish and debated dessert. "Dessert, Pippi?"
Re: Near the end of the Dinner shift
Pippi's attention however is turned inward as she considers what she wants for dessert.
Re: Near the end of the Dinner shift
scroll to the bottomand Walter opted for a piece of dark chocolate cake.//If you want something else, we can make it,// suggested Walter.
Wadsworth gave Walter a very odd look but said nothing.
Re: Near the end of the Dinner shift
//I would say that I would groom the tall man with the deep deep voice for bringing the sweets but that is not quite what I intend to say.//
Re: Near the end of the Dinner shift
Walter nodded at Wadsworth. "Thank you."
Re: Near the end of the Dinner shift
"Yes, thank you very much."
Re: Near the end of the Dinner shift
Walter smirked up at him - in an understated sort of way, of course.
After Wadsworth left, he looked back to Pippi and Mr. Neilson and smiled.
"Thank you both for coming down to do this, both for studying and for sharing dinner."

She pats Walter on the shoulder and then holds her arm out to him.
"Would you be so kind as to escort me home?" she asks with the hint of a Southern accent.
Re: Near the end of the Dinner shift
He took her arm and escorted her out of the restaurant.
