Cafe Fina, Thursday

Alfred opened up Cafe Fina today knowing that Walter should be off having childish fun, so he would have to cover the shift.

At least, he hoped Walter was off being immature, irresponsible, and young. If he was off trying to shoulder responsibillity and be grown up, there would be consequences. Oh yes. There would be consequences.

As usual, Alfred is here to serve you a delicious lunch on this most excellent day.

After breakfast for lunch in the cafeteria, Walter comes in to pick up the sandwich maker. He's expecting that Pippi will be along shortly as well.

Pippi is along shortly as she is only about 5'2".

Alfred has the sandwich maker ready in a black case. "Here it is," Alfred said. "Oh, and while I'm thinking of it," he handed Walter and Pippi some fliers. "Would you two mind putting these up at the school and dorms? I'm expecting bussiness for prom."

"No problem!" Pippi said saluting.

"We should really do tea again."

"Of course, sir." Walter took the case and fliers. "About prom... I agreed to accompany a friend to the dance."

"I had every intention of giving you the night off anyway, so let's skip the vague hints towards you asking for it and save ourselves a lot of time. Will you and Miss Santos be dining here before or after the dance? Free for you, of course."

He nodded to Pippi and smiled. "We certainly should."

"Thank you, sir." Had the radio mentioned that Walter was going with Nadia? Had a little birdy just flown down to tell Alfred?

Walter wouldn't be surprised by either choice.

"I believe we will be coming for dinner before the dance." He didn't grimace because he didn't do that in front of Alfred, but he wanted to. "I will be... I lost a coin toss with Nadia, so we will be role reversing for the prom."

Alfred does not know any little birdies. He's quite good friends with a little cat.

He tried not to smile. "Well, far be it that you welsh on a bet. I was going to ask if you needed any help procuring a tuxedo, but perhaps I should be speaking with Nadia about that, then."

Alfred was doing an impeccable job of not smiling, but Walter could observe the signs of one anyway.

"Pippi and I will be going directly from here to Stuff for Sale to take care of that, sir, but I am sure Nadia would appreciate the thought."

Pippi is doing a less then impeccable job of not smiling.

She is, however, an Olympic caliber smiler.

Unusually, he's here to serve you dinner.

Seriously, it's like 82 out. Why is it so nice?

Don't have time to wait, either for service or for the mun to come back from whatever he's doing?

Wadsworth is here for you.

So, you know what I realized today?

Walter is Alfred's Robin.

But I'm sure you already knew that.
