Weevil is opening tonight because he's supposedly going to the prom with Chloe tomorrow. He's in a better mood tonight than he was last week. Hopefully, it would remain that way.

"Double shot of tequila," Veronica said as she plopped herself down on a bar stool.

Weevil peered at her. "You don't drink."

"I got detention on the day of the prom from a purple dragon. I think now's as good a time as any to start," she argued.

Weevil poured her a diet coke and handed it over. "You got detention?"

The fact that it was given by a purple dragon didn't even phase Weevil.

Veronica took a drink of the diet coke and sighed. "Yeah, for passing notes in class. At least we got an email ~~that I still need to write & post~~ that we'll get out early enough to get ready for prom."

She grinned at him. "So, you're taking my roommate?"

Weevil blinked. "For passing notes?"

He smiled at her. "Yeah."

"Good," Veronica said. "I'm totally stealing you for a dance though."

"I look forward to it," Weevil said with a grin.

"What's new and exciting in your life? I feel like I haven't talked to you in ages."

"Not much, like usual," Weevil said. "How about you? Hunt any demons lately?"

He may have smirked.

Veronica may have flailed a tiny bit.

"You heard about that?"

"I heard about it on the radio. Your broadcast," Weevil said.

"I had to, Weevil," Veronica explained. "My friend was in danger and it was partially my fault."

"You could have told me, V," Weevil gently chastised. "I'm just glad you're alright."

"I will next time, I promise," she said, tilting her head. "Forgive me?"

Weevil grinned at her. "Yeah, I forgive you. So, besides demon hunting, anything else new with you?"

Veronica looked down and ran her finger along the rim of her glass.

"I'm single," she said quietly.

"I'm sorry, V." He meant that genuinely, despite what he thought of Logan.

She looked up. "No you're not," she retorted. "You never liked Logan and you didn't think we were good together. But you know what? It was my fault, so don't blame him."

Weevil raised an eyebrow. "You're right, I despise Echolls. And no, I didn't like that you two were together, but I still don't like to see you hurt."

He shook his head. "And how could it be your fault?"

"I'm fine. It's over, I'm moving on." Veronica almost had herself convinced that she was speaking the truth.

"And it was my fault because I broke a promise."
