Giles had noticed some extra traffic in town. Summer arrivals, then. He made sure 1.)that the dangerous materials were under triple seal upstairs in his flat and 2.) that the "15% new student discount" sign was prominently displayed.

Giles lead the way to the 20th Century history case. He selected several thick books and piled them in the young man's arms.

Then recognizing the accent, he asked "Or something specifically how Britain won The War?" (Yes, The War was definitely capitalized)

He put everything in the stack back on the shelf except for A History of Britain: The Fate of Empire 1776-2000 and Selections from The Second World War by Churchill.
"There. That should give you all the information you need." Giles sized up the young man's accent and use of capital letters for a conflict nearly seventy years past.
"Let me guess. The lastest thing in cuisine at home is rationed butter and sugar and the height of home decor is heavy black draperies. Am I right?"
