Outside Caritas: Saturday Evening

Since there wasn't anything else interesting to do in the bar.

Adella walked out of the bar into the cool night air.

She pulled out a cigarette and lit up, looking around for where her "friends" may have gone.

Parker was on her way in to Caritas, expecting to meet up with a few people there. "Hey, Pippi." She glanced at the cigarette, then cocked her head. "I didn't know you smoked."

Oh look, it's "The Queen".

Leave her alone.

Fine then. I will.

"Pippi" doesn't say anything in response to "Her Majesty", just takes a drag on her cigarette and looks at her with a small smile on her face. She blows a cloud of smoke in Parker's direction.

Parker's eyes narrow. "Niiiiice attitude, Longstocking." She took a step forward, her mouth settling in a line. "Have you got a problem with me, or is this just general bitchiness tonight?"

Adella tilted her face a bit and looked at Parker some more.

Or at least seemed to be, since the only thing that Parker would be able to see in the sunglasses was wearing was her reflection.

"Maybe a bit of both?" she said in a deeper voice then usually came out of that mouth.

Parker studied her for a second longer, then raised an eyebrow. "Now's the time to say whatever you've got to say to me, Longstocking." There was something wrong here, but maybe it was just bitchiness and a bad mood, maybe Pippi had been eating special brownies gone bad, maybe--

Stop it!

Make me.

I will!

I doubt it.

She's just a person, she's not your queen.

She'll do.

"I tend to think..." she says taking a last drag on the cigarette before dropping it on the ground and stomping it out. "That actions speak louder the words."

She approached Parker, who may note that "Pippi" seems to have grown a bit since the last time she's stood next to her. Grown quite a bit actually. And it doesn't seem to be because of her shoes.

What. The. Hell.

"Damnit. What's wrong with you?" Parker's studying Pippi much more closely now, because this-- this is not bright-shiny-happy Pippi, or enthusiastic Pippi, or even sad-I-killed-the-dragon Pippi. And she knows how strong Longstocking is, and if she's lost it, Parker is in big trouble.

"Pippi?"

Stop it! You can't start anything out here on the street anyway. The troopers'll be on you like stink on a... thing. That...

Yeah yeah, I get it. It's your ass too.

I don't care as long as you don't hurt anybody.

While the occupants are arguing the body remains inert.

"Pippi." Parker's voice is getting sharper. This looks way too familiar. "Pippi, are you still in there somewhere?"

If you hurt her it'll be all over the radio and everybody will know it was you. Or me. Or us!

...

They come to find me and one way or the other, no more fun for you!

...

She shook her head, making her sunglasses slip down a little, revealing a glimpse of her eyes.

Her Purple. Glowing. Eyes.

"I've got more important stuff to do." she growled and turned to go.

Parker froze at the glimpse of shining violet. "Oh god." She couldn't let Pippi just walk away. "No, you can't leave yet, you haven't said why you're mad at me--" She scrambled to block Pippi's path, not wanting to touch her for fear of setting her off, or catching what she had.

Adella stopped short of walking into Parker and fixed a glare on her, her eyes still peeking out over the sunglasses.

"Stay out of my way your majesty, or I'll bump you up on my 'to do' list."

She started to move around Parker and head down a side ally.

You can't hurt her!

Even if that were true, she doesn't know that.

Your Majesty? Oh, damn. No, they were supposed to leave! What had been her name, what had it been-- "Adella."

Luckily for Parker, Adella didn't hear her say her name as she rounded the corner into the alley.

Pippi continued yammering in her head to distract her. She was also eager to get to where ever Walter and Pip were and find out what had happened with that.

The spell that protects the bar usually sends people to an ally behind the building. We should go back there.

Hmmm, maybe Her Majesty will follow and we can have some fun with her as well...

Pippi hoped not.

Parker watched Pippi go, torn between trying to stop her and knowing that a fistfight-- which seemed the inevitable outcome-- would only leave both of them worse off. Adella-in-Pippi was too strong for it to be much of a confrontation, not to mention giving Pippi something to feel badly about when she got her body back.

Instead, Parker looked at the ring on her left hand, and closed her eyes. "Dream? I need your help. Please. Pippi's in trouble with the Fae."
