A day in the park - Sat May 27 - Afternoon

Kurt was crouched on the back of the bench, using both hands and his tail to juggle a series of tennis balls, while he watched the people milling about the area. The day was warm, the sun was shining, and there was a light breeze carrying the scents of late spring on it.

(ooc - for any who care to chat with FH's resident librarian)

On his way to the bookstore, Peter passed through the park. Noticing the juggler, he stopped to bow a greeting.

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-05-27 09:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Peter raised an eyebrow at the German and replied, "good day. I hope it finds you well."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-05-27 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
"Peter Pevensie," Peter replied, not offering a hand to shake because of the juggling. "It's nice to meet you. Are you a teacher at the school?"

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-05-27 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Thinking of another person whose love of books was overwhelming, Peter smiled back. "I'm sure you're right, though you have to admit that the teacher helps the student distill facts from the books into knowledge. Which you, as librarian, would do as well, I think."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-05-27 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Peter laughed, "no prodigy, just a student who's had good teachers. What brings you to Fandom, sir?"

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-05-27 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
"I've found Fandom a very understanding place so far," Peter replied. "I do hope you'll be comfortable here. With people from the past, future, and other worlds, one can hardly judge anyone on anything other than their actions."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-05-27 10:14 pm (UTC)(link)
"I feel for your people and hope a war can be avoided. Do you have diplomats or heralds attempting to negotiate a peace or have events moved beyond a diplomatic resolution?" Peter asked with curiosity, but also a gravity of speaking from experience.

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-05-27 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
"So it seems. And yet the fault, dear Brutus, is not in the stars, but in ourselves," Peter quoted, with a half-smile. "Perhaps one day we'll correct that fault. Might I ask you a question about the library?"

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-05-27 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
"Does the library have books from just this world? Or other worlds as well?" Peter asked.

"The Special Collections is the one with the genie who gives manicures?" Peter asked doubtfully.

It was a rare day that Quark wandered about town. This was one of those rare days. While he normally didn't stop to bother anyone on this trips, Kurt stood out from the normal hoo-mons milling about. He smirked and wandered over to the bench Kurt was crouched on.

"Nice tail," Quark said.

[identity profile] landlord-quark.livejournal.com 2006-05-27 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
"Thanks," Quark said, rubbing the edge of his right lobe. "I take it you're not from around here. Meaning the planet, of course."

[identity profile] landlord-quark.livejournal.com 2006-05-27 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
"Right," Quark said. He eyed Kurt a little, not quite believing he was from earth in this period.

"I'm Quark, owner of the apartment complex in town. Originally from Ferenginar, though I doubt you've ever heard of it."

[identity profile] landlord-quark.livejournal.com 2006-05-27 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
"Peace and quiet," Quark said. "I used to tend bar on a space station. After two occupations, a war, and my brother becoming the Nagus, I needed to get away. So this is my retirement."

[identity profile] landlord-quark.livejournal.com 2006-05-27 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
"Please, I've talked with more than my fair share of Hoo-mons," Quark said. He shrugged. "The thing that's probably throwing you off is that I'm from the future. A future where all you hoo-mons have already spread out into the galaxy with your precious United Federation of Planets."

[identity profile] landlord-quark.livejournal.com 2006-05-27 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
"I can't say I've met anyone who has introduced themselves as such. I've met at least one genetically altered hoo-mon, though." Quark shrugged. "Besides, it's hard to tell a 'mutant' from any various alien species."

[identity profile] landlord-quark.livejournal.com 2006-05-27 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well, I'm glad for that," Quark said, before nodding. "I've got things to take care of back in my office. It was nice meeting you, friend."

Jogging

Without his powers, he'd discovered the need to exercise, so he decided he'd try out jogging. He did a double-take when he saw Kurt.

Clark adjusted his glasses. "Oh, uhm, sorry, didn't mean to be rude. That's very impressive."

"Ah, yes," Clark said. "all is well with me, how are you? I'm clark Kent."

Clark applauded slightly and smiled. "Pleasure to meet you Mr. Wagner. As I said, i'm Clark, er, currently between jobs."

On his way back from his first handwaved day of work, Tim came across a sight that at once was startling, and comforting. A strange creature the likes of which he'd never seen. "Wow."

[identity profile] grand-fallguy.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
Tim grinned back. The man had a german accent, but he didn't look like any Kobold he'd ever seen. "Where do you hail from, if you don't mind me asking."

[identity profile] grand-fallguy.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh?" Tim said. "Where in New York?" he was very carefully resisting the temptation to ask what Kurt was.

John was passing through and gave a guy-nod to the blue dude.
