The Park [after sunset]

Anakin and Rory--with Vladdie hovering a foot off the ground and straining at the leash--walked to the park to get another look at the coffee pond.

Which now had floating bits of pudding in it as well.

Anakin, standing with his hood up, made a face. "That is gross," he said with authority.

Tim was sitting upside down on a bench in the park.

It was raining pudding. It was going to take a little more to ping Anakin's weird meter than someone sitting upside down.

So he just tilted his head. "Better view that way?" he asked.

"What way?" Tim asked.

"Upside down," Anakin said, stating the obvious.

"Bridgey says it helps with thinking," Rory contributed as Vladdie tugged her over to say hi to the ducks.

"He did that in Tactics one day," Anakin replied. "Or maybe ACJ. Possibly both." He shook his head. "Not sure it would work for me."

"He's done it in ACJ," Rory nodded as Vladdie yipped excitedly at the ducks, singling out one in particular. "It really just makes me dizzy."

Anakin smiled at Vladdie. "Did he find his friend again?"

Tim frowned, as if confused. "Upside down?"

Anakin blinked at the kid. "No. You're upside down. The dog is right-side up. And has made friends with a duck."

Yeah, that actually made sense.

"He's strange," Rory told Tim. She probably meant Vladdie rather than Anakin. Probably.

Sadly, while explaining, she missed Vladdie sipping from the pond, and seconds later bolting forward with such energy that Rory nearly fell over.

"Vladdie, don't drink that..." Anakin said, trailing off. "Oh, this is going to be bad," he muttered.

"No kidding," replied Rory as Vladdie zipped around, straining his leash with substantially more than his usual speed.

"And me without a stun gun," Anakin said, more amused by this than he probably should be.

Rory sighed. "Well, it looks like he's calming down," she said, as Vladdie paused and sat still by the edge of the pond.

Then he jerked forward, startling Rory into both falling over into the pond and letting go of his leash.

Anakin reached out instinctively, but was too late to grab Rory.

He did stop Vladdie from getting too far but grabbing the leash through the Force.

"Are you okay?" he asked, rushing over to the pond. And not smirking.

Well, only a little bit.

"I am pudding-y," Rory pouted, thigh-deep in coffee. "And coffee-y but not in a good way."

She reached for his hand, scowling.

"It's a good look for you," Anakin said, snickering as he tried to help her out. "Very...swamp creature."

Rory gave him a smirk, and then grabbed his wrist with her other hand and yanked him in with her.

Sad how no one was watching Vladdie, who was quietly wandering off to look at a small swarm of butterflies.

Anakin sputtered as he stood up. "Like I said," he said, splashing more pudding and coffee at Rory, "Very swamp creature."

"Uh huh," Rory replied, picking a bit of fig out of her hair. "We should get back before this like, congeals, though. Come on, Vladdie."

When the puppy didn't come over, Rory looked around a little frantically, and gave a whistle. "Vladdie?" She spotted him flying off, and sighed. "Damn it. It's been forever since I've had to chase him."

She smiled at Anakin quickly before wading out. "I'll meet you back at the dorms later?"

Anakin followed her, squelching in his boots.

"I'm going to go change, yeah," he said, ringing out his robe. "See you later."

"The ducks aren't too friendly." Tim pointed out. "And no, I'm not upside down. You are."

"Bye," he said instead, racing towards the water, er, coffee.
