Clark, wearing jeans, and a t-shirt, was sitting watching the waves. Actually his eyes were closed, and he was listening to the waves. With one ear, he had a small earpiece in the other with Jimmy Buffet playing softly.
He'd welcome company.

Quark liked the beach. Only for the fact that the water helped remind him of Ferenginar. He walked up to the only other soul in the area and sat nearby.

"It's an interesting view," he said. It wasn't a particularly unfriendly greeting.

Clark didn't even doubletake at Quark's appearance. He'd gotten that reaction out of the way by meeting Kurt.

"Yes it is." Clark said. "I grew up in a land locked place so the ocean is quite exotic for me. I'm Clark Kent." he said, holding out a hand for a handshake. He did wonder about Quark's apeparance, but didn't remark on it.

"Now, that's where we differ," Quark said. "I'm here because the water reminds me of home. Of course, it was usually in the form of rain, not scenic beaches."

Clark nodded. "I always liked the rain. Growing up on a farm it was always a good thing. Where are you from?"

"You won't have heard of it," Quark said. "Ferenginar. It's another planet, if you can process that idea."

Clark smirked slightly. "Oh, it's not so hard to grasp really. What brings you to earth?"

"Business and the quiet life," Quark said. "Though the instant I see a Cardassian around here, I'll be gone before you can blink twice."

"Be thankful you have no idea what I'm talking about," Quark said. "Excuse me, I've not properly introduced myself. Quark, landlord and radio host."

"Pleased to meet you Quark." Clark said. "Where are you the Landlord of?"

"Mauvaise Chance, the apartment complex," Quark said. "I also own the little bar that people rarely go to. It should be easy to tell which, since it's the one with my name above the door."

Clark smirked. "That would make it easier. That makes three bars that I know of, there's also one in the hotel, but that's mostly used by npc's tourists."

"That's Mr. Crowley's domain," Quark said. "Unless there's been some sort of change I'm unaware of?"

"Oh yes." Clark said. "Mr. Crowly left a few days ago. He left me in charge. Tricked me into taking over actually."

Quark smirked. "Good to know that the hotel is in good hands, at least," he said. "Been a business man long, or is this new for you?"

"Very new." Clark said. "Before this I was a reporter."
