Aereopagitica: Monday [6-19]

Lana opened the shop and got ready for the day. She'd kind of spent yesterday hiding out. Father's Day and Mother's Day just were difficult times. She'd usually gone to visit their graves, but with the game and all on Saturday she just hadn't been able to arrange to get home.

Clark entered the store, still on a quest for some literature to give him a better idea about managing a Hotel.

Lana smiled at him. She had kind of an odd feeling that something awkward had gone between then, but she couldn't for the life of her think what it could have been, So... She shrugged to herself and decided she'd just try to ignore it.

"Hi, Clark, how are you doing?" she asked cheerfully.

"I'm doing very well thank you." Clark smiled as well.

ooc: I was thinking that since the saying goodbye bit was not part of the truth spell that they'd remember that

Lana looked at him curiously. "Didn't you... I thought you said something about leaving?"

"Oh did you not get my message?" Clark asked. "I'm the new manager of the Hotel. Mr. Crowly sort of tricked me into it."

Lana bit her lip. "Sorry. I haven't checked my voice mail in a couple of days. I don't really have anyone who calls, so I'm not really good about that. But I'm really glad you're staying. Even if you did get tricked into it."

Clark smiled. "Seeing as how I'd been looking for a job while I was here, it does seem to be fairly advantageous."

"It does," Lana agreed. "And really, anything that keeps you here is something I'm in favor of."

Clark's smile widened. "My mother says hi by the way." Clark said.

"Really?" A smile spread across Lana's face. "That's so nice of her!"

She hesitated. "But... how... what did you tell her about me?"

"I handwavey told her a bit about the peculiarities of this island." he said. "And I mentioned that I met someone who reminded me a lot of the Lana I knew."

"Aw.... that's so nice," she said with another smile. "Please tell her I said hello next time you talk to her."

"I will." He hesitated.

"Do you, are you in touch with the Kents in your Smallville?"

"I... yes... somewhat," she said looking a little embarrassed. "I really haven't been in touch much since Christmas. When I was back then, Clark... well..."

She shook her head. "This is really weird saying this to another Clark, but... He was a little uncomfortable when I told him I was dating someone here, so..."

Clark found himself curious about that too, but didn't ask. He'd never really gotten past just having a crush on Lana when he was a teenager.

"I guess that could be awkward." Clark said. "I partly ask because...well on Father's day it occured to me that, another version of my father was still alive."

Lana froze. "Oh God, Clark! I never even thought of that. Yes, he's... do you want to talk to him? See him even? I could bring you home with me the next time I go. It would be strange, but I know he'd love to see you."

"That's sort of what I was wondering." Clark said. "Uhm, do you think, I mean yes it would be strange, I didn't know how, open they were to the idea of different dimensions. My thought was to talk to him, well both, maybe all of the Kents, at least to start."

ooc: hey admins would talking to the smallville Kents need to be okayed with you guys first? I assume a visit to them would

Lana bit her lip. "Well, they've seen an awful lot of strange things. I think they'd just be so glad to see you, though, that they'd accept things."


[OOC: We'd have to run it by them. But at one point some of us were going to plan a Smallville visit and we had to put it off till over the summer, so we could probably work your Clark in if we - I - manage to get that off the ground and cleared by them]
