Caritas, Monday Evening

Jarod opened the bar and waved to Tino as he tried to figure out why the bar only had siding on one side. Tino grunted in response and sank lower into the lounge sofa he'd spent the night on, arms folded across his chest, turning his face towards the back cushion. He hadn't showered or shaved, and generally looked like he was homeless. He was surrounded by empty glasses, which upon inspection Jarod discovered contained the remnants of virgin strawberry daquiris.

The zombie band was still playing jazz, heavy on the sax.

Caritas was open.

Yeah, it's still all jazz all the time, but maybe you'd like to try scatting?

Talk to Jarod and have him serve you, or mod Tino not getting you a drink.

The lump on the sofa? Still Tino. He's not moving, but there are other places to sit.

Clark didn't believe he'd seen this bartender here before. "Hello," he greeted.

"Good evening, sir," Jarod said. "What may I get for you?"

"I wouldn't say no to a watermelon wine cooler." Clark said.

Jarod blinked. "Right. Um, straight up or on the rocks?"

GOB walked in, looking to be in some pain. This was probably due to his hand, which had a cast on it. "Hey, Jarod. Half of my painkillers are missing. I need some booze to help with the pain and a lot of it."

Clark smirked. "Strait up thank you."

Jarod poured the wine cooler (which he'd found way in the back of one of the refrigerators) into a glass and set it in front of the man. "There you go."

After a brief debate about whether or not to explain synergistic effects of alcohol on narcotics, Jarod reached for the bottle of scotch and set it in front of GOB, along with a short glass. "What happened to your hand?"

"Thank you." Clark said.

"It's okay to split it so that I have pills during the day and booze at night, right?" GOB asked. "I thought about asking half-face at the clinic, but that seemed like a mistake."

GOB poured himself a glass and drank. "Anyway, Artie tried to rob the place with a hammer last night. He's gone insane with alumninum."

"You're welcome."

"Yeah, I think so," Jarod said after a few minutes. At least he wasn't taking them together, anyway. "Half face? And Artie tried to rob Caritas? Are you sure? That doesn't sound like him at all."

Clark surrpetitiously listened in on the conversation, his ears had ~~figuratively~~ perked up at the mention of a robbery.

"Yeah, guy with a mask on his face," GOB said. "No clue. Maybe he's into kinky stuff. I should give him a card for the Sin."

GOB had more of his drink. "And, yeah, Artie's eyes were like crazy devils. He was trying to attack the bar, then he attacked me, yelling something about how I should give him money or he'd put siding all over the place. See what he did?"

Tino looked up from the lounge sofa. He seemed disappointed.

"Artie?" Jarod repeated, thinking maybe GOB was talking about the wrong guy. "And he put the siding on the side of the building? Er...why didn't he finish it?"

"How many times do I have to say it? He's crazed! Off his rocker! Special in the head!" GOB declared. "Did you know he works security here?"

"...why?"

Still feeling very strange from the events at the library, Tyler walked into Caritas and took a seat at the bar. He ordered a beer and then turned to Alec. "Weird day," he said.

Ordering another of the same, Alec turned to Tyler and smirked. "Normal for Fandom, or weirder than that?"

"I don't know. Lorne was probably drunk," GOB said. "We'll see how long he keeps that job. Next time I see him, he's fired." GOB refilled his glass and took another drink.

"Maybe he's got a good explanation?" Jarod suggested hopefully.
