Serenity Cove: Monday Afternoon

Tim had a towel and sunblock, and was wearing his flipflops, swimsuit and a t-shirt, ready for an afternoon at the beach.

ooc: Tim's there with Gynn, or there to meet Gwynn, but the beach is open for all, and Tim's not an unfriendly guy.

Gwynn showed up with a smile after her workshop with her hair pulled back from her face. She was carrying a towel and wearing a short tunic.

Tim smiled when he saw her. "Hey Gwynn, fancy meeting you here."

Gwynn beamed at him. "Hello, Tim. How are you?"

"I'm great." he said. "Have you been here before?"

Gwynn shook her head. "No, I never have, Tim," she said with a happy smile.

"I should tell you that I'm gonna be slightly disapointed when i run out of things to introduce you too." he said. He offered his arm for the rest of the journey to a spot that looked nice on the sand.

Gwynn kissed his cheek as she took his arm.

"I highly doubt that will ever happen."

Tim grinned and they soon reached a likely spot. "So you said you like to swim."

River had decided to take a walk on the beach. The water moved interestingly. Then she noticed Tim and smiled to herself. And then she noticed he was there with someone else.

Trodding through the sand River walked up to Tim and Gwynn, grinning widely. "Hello!" she exclaimed. "You're going swimming? Tim, it's rude to think about what people look like under their clothes." She gave him a mock stern look. "And I think your girlfriend would mind.

"Right, I'm off. Pippi and I are talking to the squirrels tonight." With that she left. She still wasn't quite sure why she had said all that. After all it wasn't particularly nice.

Tim's mouth hung open in surpise, shock and embarresment.

Gwynn looked at Tim and then looked after River in shock and confusion.

"Tim? What was that all about?"

"uh," FLAIL "I'm, not sure." Okay yeah he'd been thinking about Gwynn in that way, but not exclusively in that way. But what had she meant by girl friend? T'ing? She'd never been his girl friend, and he doubted she'd mind at all actually. So he in fact, wasn't entirely sure what River had meant by all that. So he wasn't completely lying. But there was no way he was going to tell Gwynn about the part he had understood.

Gwynn was still staring after River as she tried to make sense of what she had been saying. She looked back at Tim.

"She upset you."

"She, uh, embarresed surprised and confused me. But the confusing's nothing new."

"I think she likes you," Gwynn said with a smile.

Tim's been known to be not quite a clueless as many boys are when it comes to girls liking them, but often times he's just as clueless.

"Huh?" Yes, Tim's an articulate boy.

Gwynn smiled and squeezed his arm.

"I think River has a crush on you."

Tim blushed when she squeezed his arm, and looked bewildered. "Oh." He thought about certain things in the past that might have been signs. "Oh." Would this make it awkward to talk to her in the future?

He looked at Gwynn. "Does that bother you?" he asked.

Bother her? A little.

Gwynn looked at him. "Do you want to be with her?"

"River's a friend." Tim said. "I like her, but I'm pretty sure I'm with the one I want to be with right now." he grinned. "you're the one who's cheered me up when I was down, and you're the one I invited here."

It's a good thing that there is no mirror and Gwynn cannot see the relief on her own face at those words.

"Then I'm not bothered."

Tim did feel a bit of deja vu, and wasn't certain he wouldn't feel guilty when he saw river next. But for now, Tim meant to keep his mind on one thing.

And now seemed like the perfect time to kiss Gwynn. so he did, brushing some hair away from her face as he did.

Gwynn was quite happy to kiss him back, running a hand along his face as she did so.

He deepened his kiss a bit, one hand resting on her arm, the other stroked her hair.

"Did you know you can still get sunburned even if it's cloudy?" he asked in a way to seque into possibly helping her with the sunblock.

"Sunburned?" Gwynn asked, a bit distracted by the kissing.

Tim smiled, and realized that he'd just sort of let his towel fall to the ground. Good a place as any he supposed.

"Have you ever stayed out in the sun too long and your skin gets all red and achey?" he asked. His hand was still on her arm, and might ahve been moving up and down a bit.

Gwynn nodded. "Mmm hmm."

His hand had moved to her back. "We call that sunburn, and it can get pretty bad. fortunately we've invented sunblock." his other hand left her hair to pull the tube of sunblock from his pocket.

Gwynn smiled, still distracted.

"How does it work?"

"Well," tim said, smirking a bit. With one hand he popped the cap open, as his other hand was still stroking her back.

"You just put some on your skin," he dripped some on her forehead and then her nose.

Gwynn wrinkled her nose at him.

"That feels strange."

Tim snickered. "Then you spread it around," he wiped the small globs of lotion on her forehead and nose, spreading it to as much of her face as possible. "You want to get as much of your exposed skin covered with this as possible, to prevent sunburn." he said. "And this particular brand doesn't come off in the water, so, bonus."
