DOUBLE FEATURE: Fast and the Furious starring Paul Walker and Vin Diesel! 2 Fast 2 Furious starring Paul Walker and some guy! Showtimes: Noon, 3pm, 6 pm and 9 pm
Jude and Setsuna sauntered up to the box office. Well, Jude sauntered at any rate, his hands shoved in his pockets a bit awkwardly. He peered up at the marquee. "Er . . . dunno if we should go . . ."
Damn the lack of chick flicks. Jude was at a loss.
Sakurazaki, who has had her right hand attached to her left elbow since they met up after detention, tilts her head slightly as she, too, turns her eyes toward the marquee. "Why not?" Did he not want to go anymore? Was it too obvious that something was bothering her, and he was taking it to mean that she didn't want to go anymore? She frowns worriedly.
Jude slid his eyes toward her without turning his head, grinning.
"I dunno, bra. Most girls don't like goin' on a date to an action doubleheader." He turned towards her, refocusing, concerned. "Hey, what's with the frown? Not cool."
"It's nothing, I just..." Sakurazaki shakes her head lightly, puts on a small grin. "Never mind. I think an action doubleheader sounds good. I mean, it's not as good as, say, a Kurosaki marathon, but it seems like a worthy alternative, considering the situation."
The grin cheered him up so he smiled right back at her. "Hey, you're too good to me. Ridiculously bad action movies it is, and I'll try to make it up to you afterwards if we manage to survive."
"Make it up to me?" She chuckles lightly, turning away a bit with a blush. "Hey, I'm not the one leaving amazing rare slurpees at your door. I think that puts you well ahead of the mark."
"I did, very much!" Sakurazaki grins, adding but I liked the note better in her head. She definately just blushes instead of saying that part, though. "I told you white tea would be good, didn't I?"
Jude nodded. "Yep, ya did." He stepped up to the ticket kiosk and held up two fingers. "Two tickets for the 6:00 show, please." He received and paid and turned back to Setsuna to offer her his arm into the theatre.
Drawing in a deep breath, Sakurazaki's eyes shift away at the offered arm, her hand going back and settling on her other arm, typical uncertain and sort of meekly defensive gesture. But, after a moment of considersation, just leaving him hanging would be rude and disrespectful, and she couldn't let that happen, right? Right. So, putting on another flushed smile, she lightly sets a hand in the crook of Jude's elbow. Suddenly, her smile seems a lot easier.
Jude just nodded at her, his smile wide and happy as if he hadn't noticed the moment of hesitation. But he had, and it made him wonder not for the first time what he had gotten himself into.
Not that he really cared as they headed into the theatre.
As they move into the theatre, Sakurazaki looks around, considering the spread of seats around them. "Where should we sit?" Looks like they pretty much have their pick of anywhere.
"Okay," she nods, starting for toward some seats with a very light pull at Jude's arm, "but let's sit a little toward the back. Sitting to close to the screen kind of hurts my eyes a little."
Jude nodded, allowing himself to be pulled without any complaint. "Wherever you want, bra. I think I've already ruined by eyes by staring at the TV when I was a kid."
"Ye..." Sakurazaki turns toward him and instantly falters. Boy, these seats were close together. A blush and a tight throat develop before she can continue. "Um, yeah?"
He lifted the hand closest to Setsuna, still with the mischievous glint in his eyes. "Did you know that the distance from here to here," he tapped her shoulder where it joined her arm, and then next to her neck, "Is the same as the distance," now his arm stretched around behind her, but it hovered, not settling, "from here to here?" and he did the same on the other side.
Which mean he was sitting with his arm lightly around her shoulders.
"Well," Sakurazaki says, considering the first area with as good a look at it as she can, "that's only true under the assumption that our bodies are perfectly symmetrical, but, since they're quite often not," She swings her head around to the other side, for the second inspection, "then th...."
And then she realizes the position of his arm. Eyes widen. "Oh." Red rushes to her face as her shoulders shrug slightly around a bashful smile. Her mind briefly flashes back, that one night in the common room...Alphonse telling her to just do what made her feel happy. She also considers the very empty theatre, and, the next thing she knows, she's biting her lip a little as she shifts just-so-slightly, leaning just about into him but not quite.
Jude's eyes widened. He had been fully prepared to remove his arm the second it had landed. He looked down at her with a broad smile and his arm settled comfortably around her shoulders.
Life was very, very good at the moment.
"Get it now?" he asked quietly with a little chuckle.
"Well, you caught me out of my element just now; that seems to be your specialty, and I'll have to be more on my toes about that." Sakurazaki's trying to put on a serious, decisive look, but grins keep slipping by. "However, the slurpee at my door this morning was a very advanced and impressive ninja move. Very impressive, grasshopper. Keep this up, and you will be ninja in no time."
Jude tried to cover his grin as he inclined his head in a small bow. "Thank you, wise master. Er, arigato." He shook it off. "I will endeavour to work hard at it."
She grins up at him. And then seems to get stuck doing only that for a moment, until, with a little cough and a fiercesome blush, she's pulls herself away, mostly out of embarrassment. That, and it appears as though the movies are starting.
Oh yeah. Jude was having a very, very good time already. The presence of fast cars and scantily clad women could only make things marginally better. So he just settled back and set about enjoying himself.
Sakurazaki seems to get the most glee from the explosions. But by the time they get to the second movie, she's a little transfixed because she'd be damned if that one actress (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1226817/maindetails) didn't look just like Miho-sensei. Except the colour part.

"Uh, the middle's usually best to get the best view of the screen." Jude stepped back to let her pick the spot.

Sakurazaki lightly sets herself down in a seat, leaning back and accessing her choice. She nods in approval. "Perfect."
Re: 6:00 Showing
"Good choice." A thought seemed to strike him and he started to grin, a mischeivious little twinkle in his eye. "Hey, Setsuna . . ."

Re: 6:00 Showing
"Yeah, I got it. Been working on your ninja-ing, haven't you?"
Re: 6:00 Showing
"How have I been doing so far? At the ninja-ing, I mean." A status report on his boyfriending would have been nice at the moment, too.
Re: 6:00 Showing
Metaphorical? Perhaps.

And it was sufficiently distracting him from dwelling on the off-chance that this date would end up like his first movie date with Starr.
