Aereopagitica: Monday [6-26]
Lana opened the shop on time, despite having had a surprisingly unsettled night. She'd had a quiet day Sunday, but for some reason her sleep had been uneasy - filled with nightmares and strange noises. She definitely looked a bit the worse for wear.

"I... I thought... you were dead."

He looked away from her, scanning the store absently. "I got a sort of Get Out of Hell Free card to come see you. Kind of glad they picked me. There were a lot of us to choose from you know."

Part of her thought she ought to be freaking out right about now, but this was Fandom... Ghosts shouldn't surprise her, right?

He took a step toward her. "My death was your fault, Lana. I got that damn Dear John video just as we were gearing up for a mission and I couldn't get my head in the game. You were all that had kept me going over there. I knew I could get through it because you were home, waiting for me - loving me. How stupid could I have been? You couldn't wait for me to leave. How long was it before you were dating Clark, huh? Did you leave me at the bus stop and head right back to go to the prom with him?"

He turned as if to leave. "Oh yeah, one more thing. As I understand it, your parents had first shot at coming here, but they were too disgusted with what you've become to want to see you again. Just a little something to think about until I come back. And believe me... I will be back. Sooner than you'd like."
And he was gone as if he'd never been there.
