The 4th Sin: Jarod's apartment

Parker had used girlfriend's priviledge and let herself into Jarod's room, put on her costume, and lounged across his bed, M curled at her feet. She had two of his presents ready, but after that, they were hitting Caritas.

"Shhhh. We have to be quiet."

She left the lights off, hoping Jarod wouldn't guess she was there for a bit. When she heard his key in the door, she put her finger to her lips, telling M to hush. The cat yawned at her.

"Hey, M," Jarod said, turning on the light as he opened the door. "I got that..." He spotted Parker and stood in the doorway to his room, dumbstruck.

Parker had to stop herself from chortling since this was exactly the reaction she'd been hoping for, but the smile wasn't going away any time soon. "Helloooooo, there. Happy, happy birthday," she purred.

Yeah, Jarod was still gonna be non-verbal for just a *bit* longer.

Parker swung her legs off the bed in one move, and she and M studied Jarod as if he were a very tasty morsel they were going to pounce on any second. "See something you like, Birthday Boy?" She stood up on the *very* high boots, and did a careful hip-swinging stalk over to him, running one nail down his jaw.

Jarod must have been coming back to his senses. He grinned slowly as he tried to figure out how Parker had gotten into the outfit. "Always," he squeaked, then cleared his throat and tried again, "always, Parker. Are you my present?"

"One of them," Parker purred against his mouth, licking his lips, then smiling wide as she backed away. "Others are waiting. You can open two of them now, if you want. This unwrapping is for after your party."

"It better be a short party," Jarod said, bending down to kiss her, long and appreciatively. "How'd you get into that, anyway?"

"Very, very carefully. In stages. With some safety pins. And the party lasts as long as you want it to be. Which is to say, not lasting 'til dawn." She relaxed into the kiss, then broke away again, grabbing his hand and tugging on it, until he followed her over to the bed. "First two presents. Which one do you want to open first?" She reached under the bed, and retrieved a brightly wrapped box the size of a shoebox, and a flat, pink-wrapped monstrosity (http://www.spiceintimate.com/product.asp?pf_id=3665).

"I'll, uh, take the big one first, I guess," Jarod said, sitting down on the bed. He tore into the paper and opened the box. "Ah, Parker, it's not really my style. Or size. I mean, I'll just rip the lace," he said, genuinely confused.

"Cute as you would look in this--" Parker took the gown and held it up to herself, "I think you'll get more fun out of it if I wear it. Later tonight."

"Ooooooooh," Jarod smiled at her. "Okay."

Parker matched his smile, evilly. "Exactly. Okay. Open the other one." She handed him the box containing the phone Bridge had messed with, and almost bounced with glee.

Jarod unwrapped the box, wondering if he'd be getting another present for Parker. "You bought me a cell phone?"

"Not just any cell phone. This one? Automatically scrambles." Parker smiled happily, and flipped it over, showing him the buttons. "Bridge jury-rigged it. You can call Sydney, and no one can trace it."

Jarod took it out of the box carefully and began to examine it. "Are you sure?"

"As sure as I can be. You can ask Bridge for details, but it worked fine when he demonstrated it for me." She bumped her shoulder against his. "So, reach out and touch someone. If you feel like it."

"Maybe later," he said, pulling her up as he stood. "We've got a party to get to, so we can leave."

Parker snickered, letting herself be drawn to her feet. "Right. Just find me and purr at me, when you've had enough partying. We can come back here and play with your presents."

He wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her against him. With the heels, they could see eye to eye. "Thanks for doing this."

"You're welcome." She cocked an eyebrow at him, eyes gleaming behind the mask. "Happy Birthday, Aspiring Hero-Guy." A feather-light kiss. "And many more."
