Galactica Point - afternoon

A day off. Terrific concept. After saying good-bye to Isabel for the week, Parker donned her suit, grabbed a bag of beach stuff, her cellphone and camera, her shades and a towel, and headed to the beach.

Right now, she's laying out on a towel, and snickering at the adventures of Ammy and Lord Byron Sheffield ("Bud" to his friends) in Storms of Silver. Wow. Sand can go some weird places, when you're stuck on a deserted island...

Cally took a snapshot of the water before placing her camera carefully in a waterproof bag on the beach. She wandered up next to Parker and sat down. "Heeey."

Parker looked up at her over her sunglasses. "Hey. How goes it? Working on the photographic assignment?"

"Yeah," Cally said. "Somethin' blue, taken care of."

Parker grinned at the memory of her own 'something blue', then said, "Pull up some sand, if you want. I'm not really doing anything except killing time."

"Me neither," Cally said. "Was thinkin' about going out and just floating for a bit. Just relax with nothin' but the waves."

"It is gorgeous out there. I could keep an eye out, make sure you don't go under." Parker glanced toward the surf. "I wasn't sure it would be safe to do alone, so I stayed here." She paused, thinking of something she'd discussed with Anders, but not sure if or how to bring it up.

Cally chuckled quietly. "Didn't even think about the idea of gettin' pulled under," she said. "Guess I'm kind of reckless, like that."

Parker raised an eyebrow at her, then figured what the hell. "Can I ask you something? About you and Anders? Tell me no if you don't even want to go there."

Cally shrugged. "Go right ahead," she said.

"I'm not passing this along to him, but-- do you see you two getting back together? Ever?" Parker adjusted her shades. "And there's a question in there about why on Earth did you leave all your stuff at his place, but it's extraneous."

"I had to wait until they could process my move form," Cally said. "But, erm... about the getting back together? I... no. He kinda proved my suspicions right when he hooked up with another jock so fast."

Parker sighed, knowing the backstory on *that* from Daisy's side, and looked out over the water. "Gotcha. Okay. I don't feel as worried about telling him to start dealing, then." She shrugged. "We've been talking. And he definitely needs to give you that stuff back, by the way. You are lucky he's a good guy. I've always tended to burn my ex's things."

"Frak, it was our room, technically," Cally said. "I've was sleeping on Veronica's sofa up until the move to the cabins. It's not my fault the school couldn't process my move form until now."

"Wonders of our administration," Parker said. "So where did you end up? Are you still going to be on the second floor?"

"Five-oh-eight," Cally said. "I'm joining the ranks of the stair trudgers. But, hey, I've been informed that it's the best floor."

Parker snickered. "God, don't let Cam and Marty hear you. I like second the best, but seriously." She tilted her sunglasses down again, then looked out at the ocean. "Right. You make sure a sea serpent doesn't get me, and I'll make sure a cross-current doesn't take you to Jamaica. Deal?"

"Deal," Cally said. "Though I hear Jamaica might be nice this time of year." She laughed. "Thanks."

And with that, she headed out to float for a bit.
