Galatica Point, Tuesday night

Ivanova was back on the beach as the sun went down. Powerful draw this beach seemed to have. Maybe it was the abundance of that which she didn't have back on the station - water, earth, fresh air. But whenever she needed to think, out to the beach she came. She settled back in the sand, propping herself up on her elbows. A bottle of vodka - not Midnight Hobo, for once - sat upright in the sand beside her, but it was barely touched.

Angel and Anakin weren't the only alumni who knew how to get a good brood on.

Unable to think in her room Maia set out to the beach. Walking along the edge of the water letting it brush over her feet in the gentle waves she looked up and saw Susan. Her heart jumped a little in a painful squeeze before she looked down. She didn't know if Susan had seen her or not, she could just slip away perhaps, unnoticed maybe.

Sighing a little she looked up at Susan and gave a little wave. They were friends weren't they?

Maia wasn't sure if that was a come over or not so she came half way. "Can't sleep?" She said coming up from the waters edge to stand half way between Susan and the water, maybe a little closer to Susan then the water.

"Ah see I know where you're coming from." Maia said stepping closer and then sitting next to her to take the bottle. "I recently my heart broken." She said taking a sip. "It's a nice beach to think." She said quietly.

"She isn't so bad once you get used to her, I think she's a bit to hard on herself most of the time." Maia said looking out over the ocean as well. "I came out here a lot after Sara dumped me." She said, her eyes searching for a wave. "It's a good place to emo it up I guess."

Maia nodded and took another sip before setting the bottle between them. "Should I leave you to your thoughts then?" She said, her head swimming with the sound of Susan's voice. Missing her and feeling like she was so far away when she was sitting just right there.

"Alright." She said with a soft nod. She looked at Susan's profile for a moment before forcing herself to look away. She knew every line and curve of Susan, she didn't need to look at her; she had her memorized. It came in handy for moment's like this when she knew her heart wouldn't let her stare.

"I don't know if I was or not. I don't remember." Maia said thoughtfully. "They had a pool in my apartment complex I used to swim in. I like to though." Maia thought about the time she and Susan had swam together.

Maia turned and smiled at her when she said that she knew Maia did.

Maia felt her heart almost stop from Susan's gaze before she broke it to lay back and call herself an idiot. Staying in an upright position Maia looked at Susan over her shoulder. "Oh?" she said raising an eyebrow at her for Susan to expound on the fact she was an idiot.

"Shall I argue that fact with you or just agree for the sake of agreement?" Maia said with a teasing smile. Not a big smile just a small one.

"Ivanova is always right. I will always listen to Ivanova. Ivanova is god." Maia said with a smirk, the smirk turned into a giggle.

Maia nodded, "And what part did I miss?" She said, her giggle ended but the smile was still in place. She was happy to see Susan grinning back.

"Ah, indeed. And pray tell what would Ivanova recommend in a situation such as the one I have found myself in?" Maia said grinning back before sipping off the bottle of Vodka
