Blood Gulch arms was open and Tex was behind the counter doing research. Yep, research. That noise of people getting shot and dying? Still research. She wasn't playing a computer game at all.

After his afternoon workshop, Peter entered the shop slightly tentatively as he'd not noticed it until today. Seeing that Susan wasn't there, he looked around carefully.

Great. Another teenager. Tex sighed and paused the game she wasn't playing.

"Yeah?" she asked as matter of greeting.

Peter bowed to the person behind the counter. "I was looking to buy a short recurve bow for myself and one for my sister, sir."

Tex blinked and stared at Peter. "A bow?"

"Yes," Peter replied, seeing no reason why he should be questioned. "A recurve bow."

Tex shrugged. "It's not exactly something that's on demand much and a gun is a lot easier if you want to shoot something down, but whatever," Tex grabbed a datapad and put in 'recurve bow'.

"Perhaps, but I can shoot a bow much better so it's a matter of sticking to one's strengths," Peter replied, looking over the possibilities. "$300. I can probably get it here on Thursday," Tex replied. "Ever consider trying to build some additional strengths because a bow really isn't going to get you far in the big world."

Peter nodded then smiled. "It's worked well enough in my world. Though now that I'm here, I'm learning to shoot a gun. This is mainly for my sister."

Tex motioned to a sign behind the counter that said: Moving target range: $25/hour.

"If you're really serious about learning," she said as she printed out the specs on the bow and handed a copy to Peter along with a pen. "Just fill out what hand you're shooting with and the draw weight."

Peter started filling out the form - right hand, 60lb draw. "I shall keep that in mind when I'm good enough to hit a stationary target regularly," he said, self-deprecatingly. "I'm definitely still a beginner."

"At least you know it," Tex shrugged and scanned the form, checking out Peter's name and address. "If the supplier cooperates, I should have it on Thursday. I'll call you when you can come pick it up."

"There's no point in denying it," Peter replied. "Thank you very much. Hopefully I'll hear from you on Thursday."
