Peter studied the menu with the concentration of a general deciding how to maneuver his remaining forces into a viable strategic position.  Pizza is serious business after all.

Willow came in wearing a short summer dress, sandles, hair in a french braid, and a backpack shaped like a teddy bear on her back.

She gave a curtsey when she saw him. "Sir Peter."

Peter stood up and smiled broadly. "My lady," he said with a bow. "Good afternoon."

"Hi," she said, getting up on tiptoe so she could follow all this bowing and curtseying up with a kiss. "Have a good morning? Look! I'm in public and fully dressed! My day's going great."

"That's a wonderful improvement then," Peter said, kissing her back. "I can't say how happy I am for it."

"Of course not, you're British." Willow grinned. "Speaking of emotions leads to becoming an American, and we certainly can't have that. We'd be over our quota for nationalities in this relationship. We'd be on a whole new tax structure. Consider the paperwork."

Peter laughed. "The paperwork must always be considered. Duplicate and triplicate. I'd have to move from subject to citizen. I'm not sure it could be born. I couldn't drink tea anymore. Or have a stiff upper lip."

"And then what would I kiss?" Willow replied, giving him another smooch. "You'll have to stay as you are then, especially considering - no, wait, first lunch. Shall we split a pie?"

Willow had, in fact, deliberately changed the subject in the middle there.

Looking at her curiously, Peter wondered what exactly she was planning on saying. But seeing as his Britishness had just been questioned, he let it pass under the rug of 'not pressing the issue.'

"Yes, please. What would you like on it?"

"Surprise me," Willow said, sitting down and looking innocent. "Nothing from a pig. Please."

Peter gave her a final glance, slightly suspicious now at the innocent look, and headed up to the counter to order. He returned with a pizza topped with barbequed chicken, red onions, and tomatoes as well as two sodas.

"Is barbequed chicken acceptable?" he asked her. Rather belatedly.

"More than acceptable," she said.

In the meanwhile, there was a box wrapped in blue paper and gold ribbon on Peter's chair. Willow pretended to notice it and gasp in shock. "Oh my goodness, how did that get there?"

"Good," he replied with a grin. Noticing the box, he looked from Willow to it and back to Willow. "Somehow I doubt your state of shock..." He picked up the box to sit down. "What's this for then?"

"No hope of convincing you it was a wild gang of present kittens?" Willow asked with a grin. "And it's for you, see? There's a label and everything."

The label read "To Peter, From Willow" and had a happy face on it.

"A wild gang of present kittens named Willow who can use a pen?" Peter asked, grinning back at her. "Thank you so very much."

"I may have helped with the writing," Willow admitted. "It's so hard for them since they lack thumbs."

"Well, since there are no present kittens around, you get all the thanks," Peter said. "May I open it? Or should one wait until after lunch like a civilised person."

"One may open it whenever he likes, as it is his present to open," Willow replied. "I, on the other hand, am going to eat because I'm starving."

"That sounds like a brilliant idea," Peter said, his manners re-asserting themselves as he set the present to the side. He put a slice of pizze on a plate and offered it to her.

"For the record I totally ate breakfast so there's no need for nagging," Willow said. She may have also been fibbing. "So you? How was your morning? Save any badgers?"

"Was I nagging?" Peter asked. "I can't imagine why you'd tell me other than the truth and I shan't bother you about it unless you get sick again. And the morning was interesting. No badgers, just practicing treating injuries on each other I think cause it's not been played out yet. You?"

"You weren't nagging, I was being pro-active at warding nagging off at the pass." Willow blew on her slice then nibbled on a piece of chicken. "My morning was good. Slept in. Helped this gang of kittens wrap a present. Very productive, really."

"Did you keep a kitten then? Or are you still worried about its reaction to Amy?" Peter was almost completely certain the kittens were not real. Except that it was Fandom.

"I would never steal a present kitten from its gang," Willow said. "It'd be very rude and presumptuous of me. Instead I befriend them, like Shelby. Only furrier."

"Perhaps you'd be liberating it from a life on the streets and giving it a happy home?" Peter suggested. "The kitten may have turned to a gang because it had no other supportive family." He paused. "Shelby?"

Ivanova ducked in and out, fairly bouncing as she drummed her fingers impatiently against the counter, waiting for her pizza. Then she was away just as quickly.
