The park, Monday afternoon

Jude, for once, wasn't circumnavigating the park at entirely unsafe velocities. In fact, he was even sitting still. He was sitting by the edge of the duck pond with a bag of heels, crumbling the bread for the ducks. Which in this town wasn't probably the safest of activities, but Jude was a little distracted by the scrapbook open on his lap, looking over the summer.

Dude. Summer was almost over. And he still didn't know where he'd be in the fall.

Bummer.

Oooh, these were tasty.

Saigo had seen this young man in the park before. //Greetings Kamikazi Human.// he replied before snatching up the bread.

Saigo took the bread gratefully and then had to chase a few ducks away from the lobster statue. //No no, that one's for the humans.// Nevermind they never used it, he was trying to improve human/duck relations.

Satisfied that the lobster statue was safe, Saigo returned to his observation of the kamikazi human. He wondered what the young one was drawing. And why he was not practicing his kamikazi runs, like he usually did.

Saigo preened a bit, but didn't want to be vain. So he held still without preening or posing.

Saigo hoped he'd get to see the picture when it was done.

Saigo examined the sketch closely. it looked more like his brother than he, but all in all, not bad. He wondered where the boy had seen Duck Fu being performed, that was an excellent rendition of one of the opening stances.

//Not bad.// He quacked finally. //And thank you for choosing me as a subject.//

Saigo recognized her, as he understood it, she had provided the first part of his name. He looked up at Jude.

//Hurt her and you and I will have words.//

If ducks could smirk. //Yes, well I'm glad to be here to be your second choice.//
