18 Apocalypse Avenue - Evening

Hawkeye was enjoying the evening as it cooled off. It just so happened that he'd managed to set a hammock up out front. It swayed gently in the breeze. Today had been busy with new kids and teachers coming in. The next week would be even more hectic. But for now, all he had to do was sit here and enjoy his hammock...and the straw that connected from his mouth to the bottle of pre-made goodness on his lap.

[OOC: For anyone, but especially anyone who wants a room. We still have a normal room and a basement room unclaimed.]

Jarod decided to drop by on his way to help out at Caritas. "Good evening."

[identity profile] jarodpretends.livejournal.com 2006-08-28 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
Jarod grinned. "I would. Is it still available?"

[identity profile] jarodpretends.livejournal.com 2006-08-28 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
"Which one has easier access to a door?" Jarod asked as he followed Hawkeye. "I work nights, and I wouldn't want to disturb everyone with my comings and goings."

Not to mention it made escaping easier.

"I'll take that one, then," Jarod replied, heading in that direction. He looked in and was very satisfied with what he saw. "What's the policy on pets?"

[identity profile] jarodpretends.livejournal.com 2006-08-28 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
"Giraffe?" Jarod looked back over his shoulder, "and no, I have a cat. She's not even a year old yet, but she mostly stays in my room at the Sin."

[identity profile] jarodpretends.livejournal.com 2006-08-28 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
"Thanks." He waited, then realized that he'd forgotten to ask an important question.

[identity profile] jarodpretends.livejournal.com 2006-08-28 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
"Doable. Any other rules I need to know about?"

[identity profile] jarodpretends.livejournal.com 2006-08-28 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
"Wonderful," Jarod said. "I've got to cover a shift at Caritas, but is it alright if I start moving my things in during the afternoons?"

[identity profile] jarodpretends.livejournal.com 2006-08-28 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
"Thank you," he headed towards the front door. "Ahhh, one last thing...is it a problem if some of my co-workers from the Fourth Sin visit occasionally?"

[identity profile] jarodpretends.livejournal.com 2006-08-28 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
"Alright then," Jarod gave a quick wave and walked out.

Yomiko was headed up the street, determinedly pulling her wheeled suitcase along behind her, when she saw Hawkeye. Maybe he could tell her where she was supposed to go. "Excuse me? I'm new in town, and I was hoping you could help me..."

"I'm Yomiko," she said as she took his hand. "Yomiko Readman. I'm going to be the new librarian at the school."

"Well, first I think I need somewhere to stay but I believe you've just rented both your rooms...is there a hotel or something around here?"

"Oh, that works, then!" Yomiko looked thoughtful. "Is there enough room in it for, er, rather a lot of books?"
agentthepaper: (Yes more books plz)

"I'll take that one!" Special Operations had arranged for storage for most of her books in Japan, but she was certain there would be more. "It'll work out better in the long run."

Yomiko found these terms agreeable and said so. Then she asked, "So, can I go to my room now? It's been a really long couple of days."

"Great." Yomiko pushed her glasses back up her nose and picked up her suitcase. "Thank you, Mr. Pierce. I'm sure it'll be great living with you!"

The wind kicked up on Apocalypse Avenue, tossing Mary down the sidewalk.

"Ah." she said as she landed at the front of the lawn. "Number 18."

The wind picked up again and Mary was tossed across the lawn, touching down next to the hammock.

She had her carpet bag in one hand and her umbrella with the smartly carved parrot's head on the handle tucked under that arm. Her other hand was holding both the newspaper with the advert and her hat onto her head.

"Pardon me." she addressed the delinquent in the hammock. "Do you still have any rooms to let?"

[identity profile] spit-spot.livejournal.com 2006-08-28 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
Mary gave a sniff and looked him up and down as if trying to decide if she liked him or not.

Then she gave a nod.

"No doubt." she said.

[identity profile] spit-spot.livejournal.com 2006-08-28 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
"Mary Poppins." Mary said with a slight nod of her head. "And I am interested in the room."

[identity profile] spit-spot.livejournal.com 2006-08-28 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
Mary nodded.

"I think I should like to see the attic suite if you please, Vice Principal Pierce."

[identity profile] spit-spot.livejournal.com 2006-08-28 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
Mary smiled and nodded at Hawkeye before heading to the door.

[identity profile] spit-spot.livejournal.com 2006-08-28 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
Mary nodded.

"It'll need a good cleaning." she said putting her carpet bag down on a table and taking of her hat and coat.

Then she noticed, no hat rack.

Where is one supposed to put their hat without a hat rack.

"And I do believe I shall redecorate."

She took a hatrack out of her carpet bag and set it up with her hat and coat.

Mary has pulled a large mirror and a starched apron which she puts on.

"Thank you Mr. Pierce." she calls pulling a broom out of the carpet bag.
