The James T. Kirk Memorial Causeway, late Monday afternoon

Jude and Setsuna stood at one end of the causeway, Jude holding his board and wearing a very odd looking harness. Half of it - the half he was actually wearing - looked like a skydiver's harness. The other half - the half he was holding in his hand - looked like water-skiing handle.

Oh, this could only go well.

He handed that end to his girlfriend with a smile. "Ready for this, bra?"

[[Yep, they're training. Feel free to come point and laugh.]]

Eyes a little wide on the stretch of the causeway, Sakurazaki wasn't. She totally, totally wasn't. Her gaze drifted up to inspect where powerlines crossed, noting danger spots and areas to deftly dive under or over when needed. But it was definately the safest place to do this. Her already pale skin seemed even more impossibly white as she gripped onto the handle. Her wings, much more eager about it than she was, twitched with anticipation.

She nodded, gulping a little. "As I'll ever be. Where did you get this thing, anyway?"

It struck her as odd that Jude would just bring a harness like this along, but she wasn't going to question it. Sakurazaki gave him a stern look. "Someone else with a natural parachute? Come on; I said I wanted to help, and I meant it."

And she did. She wasn't quite sure why she, who had faced demons and defeated a vampire...titled second best fighter Mahora Academy had to offer!...was afraid of a little skateboard. She drew in a deep breath, began flapping her wings, and pushed herself off the ground a little. She hoovered a little, still a little unsure on how this was going to work. "Should I...I should probably just get up there and then you start, right?"

Despite the slowness, the tug of sudden moment was a little jarring at first. Sakurazaki tightened her grip, and stiffened her wings, curving them in just enough, and focused intently on keeping them that way, while still maintaining flight until he sped up and she could just trail behind him.

It took a lot of her back muscles, a lot of her concentration. But, call her crazy, she was thinking that this just might work.

John was not searching for perfectly spherical rocks that would totally not fit in a slingshot. Nor were his pockets bulgy from not doing that.

He stopped and stared.
