Alfred was amazed at the influx of new students and teachers. And moreso at the amazing variety of names.

Or lack of names, in the case of the one called "El" and the one called "Yondaime".

The door is blown open by a sudden gust of wind.

Mary enters the restaurant and the door shuts behind her of its own accord.

She looks around with a critical eye.

Alfred appeared behind her. Whether she heard him or not, that was for her to decide. "May I help you, madam?"

If she hadn't, his sudden appearance didn't seem to startle her.

She began to take off her hat, scarf, and coat.

"Yes, I have decided to have Tea out today. I realize it's a bit early for Tea Time but I have several things to attend to."

Alfred nodded. "One must do as one must for tea," he said. "Would you like Wadsworth to take your coat?"

Mary gave Wadsworth a glance for a moment and then sniffed.

"Thank you." she said offering her hat and scarf as she unbuttoned her coat.

Wadsworth took them and moved off in the direction of what was presumably the coat room while Alfred led Mary to a table. "I'll be back in a moment," he said.

Mary nodded and sat down, checking the place setting and looking at her reflection in the spoon.

Alfred returned with a tea service and a pot of freshly boiled tea. A small plate of scones was placed next to the tea pot. "Will there be anything else?"

"This is lovely thank you Mr....?"

"Pennyworth," Alfred responded. "Alfred Pennyworth."

"Mary Poppins." she said offering him her hand.

"A pleasure, Miss Poppins," Alfred said, taking it.

"Likewise." she said. "Tell me Mr. Pennyworth. Is this island somehow still part of the Empire? I can't help but notice a significant number of our countrymen about."

"I rather think that's just a quirk of fate, Miss Poppins," Alfred replied. "I'm fairly certain it still falls under the jurisdiction of the United States of Government."

"Well, as long as one can get a proper cuppa there's no need to complain." Mary smiled.

Alfred nodded, smiling. "That's what I always thought, Miss Poppins. Can I fetch you anything else?"

Mary surveyed the table.

"No thank you Mr. Pennyworth, this is as fine a tea as a lady can hope for in or out of the Empire."

Alfred bowed. "Very good. If you need me, I'll be about."

Mary nodded to him as he walked off and had her afternoon tea.

Barbara Gordon stepped into the Cafe Fina and looked around. It was her first time out in town, and the cafe looked really great from the outside. She figured she'd give it a shot and see how the food was.

Alfred stepped up behind her. "Can I help you miss?"

Barbara turned around at the British accent to see a distinguished looking man standing behind her. Taking in his suit, she gave him a soft smile and said, "Hey Jeeves. I was just, umm, looking for a place to eat. Or something."

"Well I think this qualifies as both," Alfred said. "And it's Alfred. May I show you to your seat?"
