Parker had stopped by J,GoB to grab another coffee, then decided to go over and see her acting-mysterious-and-sneaky boyfriend before heading back to school. Maybe he'd actually 'fess up to what he was doing now?

Jarod stretched out, finally finished with his unpacking, and was trying to coax the cat out from under the bed.

Time to call Parker.

Parker checked her caller ID, and grinned. "Hey. I was just headed over to see you."

"Oh, yeah? Where you headed?" Jarod's smirk was probably audible.

After all this time, she knows when he's smirking at her, even when he's not there. "The Sin, of course. Why are you being smug at me? What have you done?" She rolled her eyes. "There haven't been any fires or explosions in town, I checked."

"Huh. Funny thing? I'm not there." Yeah, he was having way too much fun with this already.

"Heh." Parker rolled her eyes. "Right, so, where are you? Or am I supposed to guess?"

"Come and find me, Parker."

Parker's laughing, even though he's being very smug. "Righhhht. So. Should I just knock on every door between here and the school? Do I get a hint, aside from 'not at the Sin'?" She looked around, and started walking through the Park.

He walked over to the window and looked out, keeping back a bit so he wasn't immediately visible. Jarod spotted her and smiled. "Getting warmer."

Parker stopped in her tracks, and looked around, trying to spot him. "Hunh. So, within sight?" She turned left, away from him, and asked, "Why aren't you lazing around the Sin, cooking for you and M right now?"

"It's my day off," he said, not giving her any more of an explanation than that. "Getting colder."

"Well, I knew that," Parker responded, turning around and trying to see him again, scanning the houses lining one side of the park, and the shop in the other direction. She started heading toward the shops. "So, is this connected to what you were up to all week while I was gone?"

"Cold," he said, peeking out the window again, "and yes."

Parker corrected her course so she was headed in the relatively right direction, heels clacking on the pavement as she kept look around. "Now you've got me intrigued. Did you, I don't know. Build something around here? Find something to show me?" She started hurrying down the street, stopping at the corner, looking speculative.

"Getting warmer. Almost hot," Jarod teased, lowering his voice, "and no on the building, yes on the showing."

Parker tapped a heel on the pavement, then slowly began stalking down the block, toward his location. "Hmmmmm. Show? What nefarious object do you have stashed on this side of town, Jarod?" She was grinning though, still trying to figure it out.

"Almost on fire, Parker. I think I can see the smoke," he grinned, "and that would be telling."

"You say the greatest things." Parker hummed, spun on the street, trying to spot another clue, or another indication of where he was, then gave up, reaching for the gate at number 10. "I wouldn't be standing right in front of you, would I?"

"Nope." He closed the white curtain and stepped away from the window, but Parker might have caught the motion. Jarod wasn't being particularly sneaky, after all.

She did see *something* down the block, though, out of the corner of her eye. It was either the second or third house down, so she let go of the gate at number 10 and started hurrying that way. "You know, some girls would find this weird. Or creepy. Or annoying." Parker grinned, and stopped between the two houses, trying to figure out where she'd seen the curtains move. "Or be screaming with impatience by now."

The phone got a little staticy as Jarod walked through the kitchen and out to the porch. He waved.

Parker's grin widened as she said into the phone, "Gotcha," before hanging up, and pushing open the gate to number 18 and walking up the path. "Hey, stranger."

He looked her over from head to toe. "You look better. More relaxed."

"I had a very relaxing time. Quiet." She leaned in and gave him a slow kiss on the lips. Pulling back, Parker said, "Ben says hi. And if you should go visit him, he'll make you pancakes."

Jarod slipped his arms around her waist. "Sounds good. So, want to see something?" He asked, guiding her inside.
