Streets of Fandom [Sunday Morning]

Bridge has one glove off and is following Marie's trail, the little ball of light hovering over the ghostly image of her that only he can see.

"This way," he says, as he watches her turn down a street. "Let's go."

"I wouldn't know," Bridge admits with a slight smile. "This is the way I've always tracked people, after all."

Seely followed Bridge and watched the ball. "That's kinda freaky."

Naomi followed, she didn't say anything but her eyes were wide as she watched the ball of light. She had certainly never seen something like that before.

From above, but not so high up that they might not be able to hear her if she shouted, Sakurazaki flew along with the ball and her group, keeping an eye out ahead of them, trying to hopefully catching something before the ball lead them to it, as well as predict anything that might suddenly cause the ball to suddenly change course.

Cameron followed quietly, filing this particular week away as officially the worst week yet. Okay, almost worst. The ball thing is kind of cool, though.

El was on his way to church when he saw the group of students headed down the street.

"Hey, what's going on?"

"A friend of ours is missing," Bridge explains. "We need to find her as soon as we can. She might... be in trouble," he says, not sure of how much he should tell this person, seeing as how he's never met him before and all. At the same time, he got the feeling that the newcomer would be willing to help, so...

El adjusted his right sleeve. "You are a student at the school, correct? Is the girl also a student?"

Bridge nods. "Her name's Marie."

El popped his neck. "I'm coming with you then. You shouldn't be engaged in a search without some sort of faculty supervision."

Bridge raises an eyebrow. "I *am* a tracker," he points out. "But an extra pair of eyes can only be a good thing." He looks at the others in his group for confirmation.

Upstairs

Stepping out into the upstairs hallway, Bridge looks around. "Marie?" he calls out softly, not wanting to startle her.

Marie is huddled on the floor in the closet of one of the bedrooms, her legs wrapped tightly to her chest. She's been crying on and off the entire time, but makes an effort to cease her sniffling when someone calls her name.

Bridge follows Marie's trail into the bedroom and heads for the closet door, which he notices is open just a crack. "Hey," he says, slowly pulling the closet door open the rest of the way.

"Go away!" Marie screams. "I don't want to hurt you!"

Bridge tilts his head at her. Something seemed... different. Kind of like the feeling he got from Z's replicates, as opposed to the aura of the original Z. He realises that this Marie must be the dupe.

"It's okay," Bridge says, slipping his glove back on and holding up his now-covered hands. "See? You don't need to worry about that, with me."

Marie stares at him for a few moments, but then nods slowly. Some part of her feels like Bridge is safe, so she unfolds herself and gets to her feet, maintaining as much distance as she can given the circumstances.

"Don't... don't touch me," she pleads.

After finding Marie

Bridge walks back down to the ground floor of the house, Marie following behind him.

"Guys?" he calls out to the others. "I found her. Or one of her, anyway."

Marie is still nervous and keeping a safe distance from Bridge or anyone else she encounters.

Hearing the call, Cameron ran back up the stairs but keeping in mind the whole being freaked out thing, he kept his distance. He nodded at Bridge in a 'good job' sort of way before looking at Marie.

"Yo," he said softly because that kind of said it all really.

"Hi," Marie replied, her voice shaky. She was glad that Cameron was keeping his distance though, it made her relax a tiny bit.

"You had us worried there," he said, keeping his voice soft and managing a small smile as he was just relieved now. Well, except for the part where they were still looking for another Marie.
