Sunday Brunch - Luke's Diner

It was Luke's turn to host the town brunch again, so he got in early and prepared a lot of food. There was a selection of pastries, bagels and fruit plus he was cooking made-to-order omelets and had some scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and home fries in metal serving trays.

Lorelai was there with Bucky and Luke was glad that the baby kept her from getting in his way while he was working. It didn't keep her out of the coffee though, much to his dismay.

Lorelai was drinking gallons of coffee while entertaining Bucky with stories about Kirk and Stars Hollow.

Bucky looked fascinated by his mother's stories. No, really.

Jake entered the Diner. She looked around. She was a man... well, woman with a mission, it was clear to see.

Lorelai grinned at girl, trying to figure out if she'd met her.

Luke was in the back cooking. "Do you need help with something?" Lorelai asked, bouncing Bucky on her knee.

Hmm this looked like a spread they might have gotten at Hogwarts. Lavender waved shyly at her Pop Culture professor as she scanned the various pastries, looking for a cheese danish.

Clark found himself a bit distracted by the baby.

Bel was in the mood for a breakfast with meat instead of fruit and bagels for a change, so he headed into town and went to Luke's for some carnivoricious goodness. Mmm, bacon and sausage.

Lorelai waved. She recognized him from her class and was trying to remember his name.

"Belthazor," he said, seeing the searching on her face. "I'm in your Pop Culture class."

Anders hadn't left his room at all on Saturday except for that one brief sprint through the dorms when he got too restless, so he'd been living on sandwiches and slightly-stale muffins that whole day. As a result, he was hungry this morning, and Sunday brunch at Luke's sounded like a really good idea.

He got a mushroom, spinach, and cheese omelet from Luke and piled home fries, sausage, bacon, and eggs on top of it to a nearly hazardous degree, then took the nearest seat and started scarfing all that food down.

He even made some effort to eat more slowly than his stomach thought he should.

Bel eyed Anders as he came in and grinned.

Anders caught sight of the grin out of the corner of his eye and promptly choked on -- of all things -- a bite of sausage.

Joxer wandered into the diner looking practically glowing with happiness.

He grabbed a very large plate of scrambled eggs and meats and sat down.

Miraculously, he remembered to use a fork.

Lorelai waved, recognizing another boy from her class.

Joxer waved back. "You're my teacher," he said, pointing out the obvious.

Ellie walked into Luke's for breakfast, looking much happier and relaxed than she had the day before.

Lorelai waved. "Hey," she said. "I saw you at the faculty party the other day, but didn't get a chance to talk to you."

"Hi!" Ellie said. "I'm Ellie Arroway, the astronomy teacher." She offered her hand.

A woman and a lizard walk into a diner. No, doesn't quite have the right ring to it. Nevertheless . . .

"Look at this, Liz! What a spread!"

Alanna came into the diner and filled up a plate with food for herself and started looking for a saucer for Faithful.

Susan walked down to Luke's and loaded up a plate, waving to Lorelai and stopping to say hello to Bucky. "Good heavens, he's getting big."

Peter had sworn that he was perfectly fine walking down to meet Su, but he almost regretted it once he got to Luke's. Food was good though. Food was excellent. He found a plate and loaded it up with sausages, eggs, and toast then sat down beside Susan.
