The Park, Monday Evening
It had taken some coaxing, but Wilson finally won out. He and Aziraphale had a blanket spread out under some trees near the pond, along with a bottle of wine and a portable CD player. Against all sense of public propriety, the angel had his shirt off and wings unfurled, and was being indulged in a good therapeutic wing preening.

Aziraphale and Wilson
in a totally not dirty wayon the mussed feathers.Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
"I swear, you dither in the most unique ways, love." He scolded softly as he decided to start at the bottom of the left wing and work his way up.
In short order, nimble mortal fingers began to straight feathers
in a totally not dirty way.Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
"Anyway, love," he murmured, "What would you do to relax if you didn't have my wings to play with?"
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
"What I don't understand is how you get your feathers in such a state, short of unfurling them when I'm asleep and worrying at them with your own fingers." Wilson despaired as he had to carefully unknot a couple of primaries, hoping not to be forced to pluck any loose.
Sighing softly Wilson stood up and very carefully took hold of the topline of the wing. With a gentle tug he coaxed Phale into unfolding the wind to it's full extension, the brilliant white feathers distinct against the green grass as it spread outwards.
"There, now I can see what I'm doing."
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
Wilson insistance at the wing being extended got a little sigh from the angel, although he fussed a bit at the idea of drawing so much attention. "James love, really...you shouldn't have suggested we come out in the dusk then if you can't see."
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
"Aziraphale, really. No one is around to bother you. It's chilly and dank and the only individuals out here are you, my and the ducks and I'm beginning to wonder if you aren't part duck yourself."
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
Aziraphale laughed, thinking that within the course of a week he'd been accused of being a duck and an alien tomato. He wondered what was next.
"Oh, right there, love. I think there must be an awful tangle right where you just had your fingers."
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
"I...say it...good grief look at this mess...because we're out here...in the cold...and the damp...and...Raphale, honestly, did you take knitting needles to knit these together? And...you're happy as a lark."
Scooting down a little, Wilson pulled the wing across his lap, partly because he was a wee bit cold and also because it gave him a better purchase on the tangle.
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
He turned his head to smile at Wilson. "We could be out here in a snowstorm and I'd still be happy as a lark. Or, er...well, perhaps happy as a penguin."
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
>BITE<
Right on the topline of the wing he was preening.
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
evilsneaky young doctor."Good heavens, James," he murmured, eyes glowing brightly, before turning back around and settling into a much more subdued posture.
Although after a moment, he couldn't help but add, "I had no idea you had such strong ideas about penguins."
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
What fun was playing if you couldn't play just a little dirty after all?
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
"Really, my dear...we're in a public place."
But he did turn around, shifting about on the blanket until the young doctor could lean against Aziraphale's chest and work on the wings from the other side. Which also had the added bonus of keeping the damp night air off of Wilson.
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
"Pipi came through with a list of hotels for us to look over. Four possibilities actually. Also I was thinking of coming up with three or four comedy shows for my class to pick through and vote on which one's they'd like to see."
He spoke softly, no need to yell as his head rested against the angel's collarbone.
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
He thought back to the discussions in class that morning, and frowned a little. "Love...I've had a couple of students express some concerns about getting their permission slips signed. I've left a message for the principal to request meeting with her regarding Belthazor, to see if she'll allow someone else to stand in for his parents."
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
"I would imagine she will. So many of our students...their guardians are...err...difficult to reach, so I would think the permission of the school itself would suffice."
Another bad tangling drew his attention away from conversation for a bit and after a little while, Wilson sighed softly and reached over to body hug the poor wing.
"You should go visit River."
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
"You don't think that would be meddling, do you? I mean...I don't even know the child, and I don't want anyone to think that I'm in the habit of going about the snooping into the business of others."
Not that he didn't want to go. But the angel was never quite comfortable with that gray area between helpful and nosy.
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
"It's only meddling if you do something. This would be...checking up on a situation. After all, Blair and Phoebe are our friends and it can't be out of line to...just go to see if she's all right...right?"
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
"You're right, James love. I'll go tomorrow to the clinic, and see if she's there."
He sighed and wrapped his arm around Wilson's waist. "Have you decided what we'll be doing on our trip?"
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
Though spring and what they had had of summer together had been delightful, Wilson had to admit that the hints of Fall and winter in the air were making him happy, because it meant more snuggle time with Aziraphale.
"Seriously, love we're going to have our hands full with this group but I'm pulling together some comedy acts and I think I'm going to propose 3 or 4 and let the kids decide what sounds interesting to them. Have you thought about what you're going to do with your group?"
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
He paused for a moment, pondering the idea. "You know, like a fortune cookie, a...postcard from a casino with some sort of fortune-telling theme, that sort of thing."
Aziraphale tilted his head and looked down at the young doctor hesitantly. "What do you think?"
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
"I think those could be some fun activities, definitely. I like the scavenger hunt idea...have you thought about taking them to some of the places where people claim to be 'prophets' or able to tell the future and test their knowledge of the styles of divination against how these people do it to see if they can tell people who truly believe vs charlatans?"
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
He rested his chin on Wilson's shoulder. "I thought perhaps the classes could spend some of their time together as well. I'm sure my students would enjoy some of your activities, even if they aren't part of my curriculum."
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
"Mr. Phale...are you trying to conieve a way to spend more time with me while we're out in Sin city?" He teased in a low, loving voice.
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
"I would love nothing better than to slip away...or...just slip into a hot tub with you but...this crew? Even asleep they need watched over and I'm sure there will be a couple who will negate that whole sleep thing with a case of Red Bull or something."
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
After all, they did not want to go to the police station...really.
"And probably because we are? They're good students but...uh...exceptional individuals." Wilson said with a chuckle. "Still, come on, love...you took on demon princes and demon hoards, surely you're up to a pack of high school students?"
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
"James love...if I were up to a pack of high school students, what would have been the point of sending me here to teach them? I'm certain this was supposed to be a lesson of some sort. And likely not for them."
It was said in good humor, though, because he was sure he could track of them. Keeping them out of trouble was another question entirely.
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
"So you think you're here to learn something? You don't think you might be here to impart wisedom of some sort?" He asked with a smile before exhaling softly and tucking his head up under the angel's chin.
"I'd say THEY got their money's worth over the past year and a half."
Harumph!
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
Another light kiss, and then he added, "It's coming on Fall soon."
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
"Shall I kidnap you again and drag you out to go leaf rustling, lover mine?" He asked softly, fingers gently stroking across pristine white feathers, reveling in their warmth and the aura of comfort he could still soak up from his lover when they were cuddled up close together.
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
"I rather hope you might. I expect I may have the hang of it now. I wonder if any of the students have a football we might borrow as well."
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
Wilson might have said that last bit with a small harumph as he was still a wee bit sore over the fact that for them their first anniversary...all of their first anniversaries actually, had been spent apart, seperated by...well a lack of body for one.
He had tried to shoulder it with good grace at the time but now as the second anniversaries started to roll around, Wilson felt as if a little something had been stolen from he and Phale and he couldn't help wondering if it had been done on purpose.
To keep them humble.
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
"For Fandom...it will have only been one year. We have an eternity, James love. What does such a small amount of time matter for us? The last year is gone, let's leave it go and count this as our first year. A year since we met right here, in this place."
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
"When do we get to have the really hot anniversary sex? Do we have to wait till January for that or can we have it earlier." He asked softly, tilting his head so that Aziraphale could see down into his eyes, could see that he was definitely on board with the angel's plan.
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
Which might have been his way of proposing really hot anniversary sex in October and in January.
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
"You might have a point. We want to be fair to all the anniversaries after all. November, December, January..."
He smiled then and pulled back just enough to touch noses with Aziraphale.
"Shall we go to New York again?"
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
October for their first meeting, November for 'leaf rustling' -- and for what was perhaps the most vital, that night when Wilson found the angel alone in his despair, and Aziraphale began to realize how important the young mortal was to him. Then December, for their first trip together, and January for their first kiss.
A great many anniversaries, Aziraphale realized, and with
dorkyhappy smile. He almost wished they had one in September, just so they wouldn't have to wait so long.Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
"Come on, love. Let's go home, before I feel the need to fuss you for expending energy keeping me warm out here."
Because there would be much more interesting ways to keep warm back at the apartment!
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
"I think I may go by the library tomorrow, if I have a chance," he mused, thinking of what to do to keep himself busy for the whole hour that Wilson was teaching class, while they gathered up their things.
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
"And maybe go talk to River?" He nudged gently as they started to walk back towards the apartment building.
Re: Aziraphale and Wilson
Walking with Wilson's arm looped through his reminded the angel of so many peaceful afternoons and evenings on the bench by the pond, and he smiled at the other man. Really, he needed to get back into the habit of things he used to do, like take cookies to people he didn't know, and stop by all the shops in town to slowly whittle away at that number. So he made a mental note to start doing just that.
Exactly the sort of advice he'd given Sister Rosette, which he now realized he needed to be following himself.
