Our Lady of Fandom; Thursday [ 09/14 ]
Rosette had totally been opening the church regularly, shut up.
But, for the most of the day, Our Lady of Fandom was actually closed for a private, candlelit ceremony.
One of the little old ladies' cats had died, choked to death on a mouse that was just a little too big, matched up with a chronic hairball problem.
There were many tears and sad, soulful organ music. Rosette had even found a black habit and spoke what she found to be quite a moving eulogy. "Alas, poor Mittens, I knew ye well. Even if you put more scratches in my shins than I wish to remember, you always did manage to be cute every once in while, when your nose wasn't dripping with snot as if you had the kitty-plague. Lo, let the Lord recieve Mittens into little kitty heaven, where there are no dogs, but plenty of goldfish. And, by the love of the angels and the heavens and the saints, amen."
After the ceremony, though, the church became available for all again, but with a very somber presences overhanging it.
They will bury Mittens tomorrow, postponed due to the drizzle.
[[heh, available for all your churchly needs]]
