Movie Sign Theater 3000, Saturday

Okay, Joel forgot to open the theater today, not that he thinks anyone minds. He remembers the important part, which was the rental later on in the day.

So he sets things up, takes inventory because he doesn't trust those crazy kids, sets up the movie and heads off to Caritas for his dates.

Marty is guiding a blindfolded Angela into the theater while also trying to carry a gift and a picnic basket at the same time. "So are you ready for our anniversary date?"

"I haven't broken my ankle yet," Angela said hopefully, only cursing a little at her decision to wear heels with her new sweater and skirt. "Are we almost there?"

"We're here," Marty replied as he took the blindfold off and sneaking a quick peck on the cheek. "I got the place all to ourselves. Did I mention you look great tonight?"

"Not yet, but thanks," Angela said, smoothing her skirt as she looked around. "...the whole theater? You rock."

"I'm glad you think so," Marty beamed. "I was thinking of a way we could re-enact certain moments of our relationship in the past year. Since I didn't want to get shot again or put anyone in mortal peril..."

Marty motioned to the booth and a Zombie movie began to play.

"I thought we'd watch some other people deal with Zombies while we eat Tapas."

Angela smiled at that. A lot. And leaned in to kiss him on the nose. "Have I told you lately that you're the best boyfriend ever?"

Marty traced the Angela's jawline. "Ohhhhh.... Maybe once or twice. I have good company because you're just the best girlfriend ever."

He then picked up the picnic basket. "I also brought Chinese."

"Trying to make me fat?," Angela asked, but she took an egg roll and bit into it anyhow. "Seriously, this is awesome."

The movie started. "You'll let me hide my eyes during the scary parts, right?"

"I'll let you do anything you want," Marty said whispering even though they had the theater to themselves. "Do you want your gift now or after the film?"

"Now's good," Angela said, also whispering. "Unless you want to make me wait."

"That wouldn't be very nice of me, now would it?" Marty said sliding the wrapped package (http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/xpsnb_m1710?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs) onto her lap.

"I think you'll like it."

Angela opened it and squealed before hugging him. "I had no idea you were going to do something like this. Thank you, thank you, thank you."

She shyly passed over two small packages. "Mine is not that impressive."

Marty gave Angela a big grin and even bigger kiss. "Actually I'm quite impressed. These are very nice."

"I figured that since you don't see a therapist any more, you might want to write things down just for you," Angela said, a little breathless from the kissing. "And ... there's a handwavy but mushy note from me int he front."

"That's very thoughtful of you," Marty said opening up the cover and reading the note in the flickering light of the movie theater.

When he was done he just turned and looked at Angela with a dopey expression on his face.

"You're the best thing that ever happened to me. If I had to do it all over again I wouldn't change a thing. Except maybe for the parts we broke up and I got shot."

"And the part where you went away for three weeks and I was convinced you would die," Angela said. "I could have so done without that."

She leaned into his shoulder, watching the movie.

"I'm never letting that happen again," Marty replied as he slipped his arm around Angela. "You won't get rid of me this year."

"Then I can't imagine a better way to start senior year," Angela said.

"So when I was calling you while you were in jail, did you ever think we would make it this long? I had no idea."

"I'm pretty sure I blew every chance I had with you at the beginning," Marty replied. "Especially with Angelus and the damn JA's running around. Somehow we made it threw it all. After we got back together the last time? I knew we'd make it. Even when I was gone I knew I'd be coming back for you. I hope that doesn't sound stalkerish."

"If you're stalking me, I'm stalking you," Angela said, touching his face. "And it doesn't. It sounds sweet."

Marty gives Angela a long sappy look before leaning in to kiss her.

"I love you."

"I love you too," Angela said, after kissing him back very, very thoroughly.

She picked up a garlic shrimp and held it out to him, trying to feed it to him. "Here. Eat."

Marty took the shrimp in his mouth and ate it. "I guess I could have picked neater food to feed each other with."

"I like being mesy with you," Angela said, and blushed. "I mean, I don't mind if stuff gets on my sweater or whatever, this is worth it."

Marty offerend Angela a bite of his eggroll. "You can be a mess with me any time you like. And can I just take this moment to thank you for a wonderful year?"

Angela took the bite of egg roll, chewed, and swallowed. "Can I thank you for the same? I never knew I could feel this way about anyone who would feel the same way about me."

"Believe it," Marty said leaning over to pull out a bottle of wine into two glasses.

"A toast," he said as he handed over the glass to Angela. "To a wonderful year. And to the next one ahead of us."

Angela clinked the glass and took a long sip. "And to whatever happens after that," she added.

Marty gave Angela a sappy look. "I really like the sound of that."

Angela wasn't sure she did, but that was a thought for another day.

"I like the idea of always being here with you," she said instead. "Watching bad movies, eating Chinese food --" And the film distracted her. "Ew, did that chick just get her head chopped off?"

Marty looked up at the screen and blinked. Oh yeah. Horror movie.

"Yep. She must have broken one of the rules of horror movies. Don't have sex."

"So if we ever get a crazed killer here, we're both toast," Angela said. "Good to know."

"Well we've done okay so far," Marty pointed out with a little chuckle. "Plus we're not in a movie together."

"Unless the pirate's making a documentary," Angela agreed, taking andvantage of the snuggling to slide one hand over his stomach. "But true, good thought."

"If he's making a movie of us? I want the footage," Marty said brushing a lock of hair behind Angela's ear before leaning over to kiss her neck.

"God, me too," Angela murmured. "I wonder if we could bribe him to destroy all gremlin-related footage of either of us."

Her mind was more on the kissing, though.

"Rum," Marty replied in between kisses. "Lot's of it."

"Bathtubs full," Angela said, dizzily. "Oceans."

Marty slipped his hands into Angela's hair and gave her a very long and passionate kiss.

"Happy Anniversary," he whispered.

There was not anything Angela could say to that, other than kissing back and playing her fingers through his hair. "What do you want to do after the movie?" she asked.

"I was thinking a nice long walk through the park. Maybe down to the shore?" Marty suggested. "That sound nice?"

"Very nice," Angela said, settling in to watch the film.

They picked at the Chinese food and tapas through the movie, being good and only making out a little in case the robots were watching. After it was done, they cleaned up -- less work for Jaye, right? -- stashed the laptop in a safe place, and wandered off hand in hand.
