Whut can ah get yuh?

You know, where guests are staying. Something broken? mod it and call maintenance. Or housekeeping can come a callin'.

"River, I don't think you should try and fix that..." Simon tried.

"It's broken," River replied, "You have to change this." She handed the lightbulb to Simon. He frowned. "You change all of this just to get the light working again?"

River nodded. "It's quaint, isn't it."

*knock*knock*

"Housekeeping!"

River opened the door wide. "Hello. Can you change a lightbulb?" she asked, grinning happily.

he old woman awkwardly craned her neck to look at the ceiling and the dead bulb.

*tsk*

"At my age my dear, I don't think so. I'll have to call Ernest."

She picked up the room's phone and called down to the office. "I need Ernest up in room handwavy. There's a dead bulb up here." She hung up. "He should be here shortly. Do you need clean towels?"

"I think I'm fi..." Simon began, when River interrupted him. "Yes!" she said, grinning widely. "We do!"

She replaced the towels in the bathroom, then left, assuring them that Ernest would be by soon, and thinking that it was shamefull, a young man taking advantage of a teenager like this, taking her to a hotel. She needed to go somewhere to be alone and think about that for a long, long time.

River giggled as the woman left. "She thinks you're taking advantage of me," she told Simon, who looked seriously embarrassed.

There came another knock at the door.

River opened the door again. "Lightbulbs?"

Ernest smiled confidently. "Yep," he said, holding a box of fresh bulbs. "Got 'em right here." He sauntered into the room and peered up at the bulb.

"Yes sir, changin' lightbulbs is a lot like life's opportunities." he drawled. "When one goes out, you just gotta replace it with a fresh one, knowhutImean?"

He flipped the switch a few times and nodded when the old bulb failed to light up. He then unscrewed the bulb and placed it ever so carefully aside, then, probably should have just screwed in the new bulb. Or at least made sure the switch was off.

Instead he licked his thumb. "Better check the connection." he said, and stuck it into the light socket.

*BZAP!*

"Waaaaaah!"

*Thud*

Simon blinked, then quickly switched into doctor mode and checked the man's pulse. He looked up at River. "He's ok," he said. "But someone should tell him not to do that in the future."

River nodded solemnly.

The bulb in Ernest's other hand, the fresh one, was glowing, and a bit of smoke was rising from Ernests ears, but he otherwise seemed unharmed.

"Eheheheheh." he laughed slightly, embarresed. "Uh, connection's fine." he told them, and screwed in the light bulb without any further problems.

"Perhaps you should avoid... doing that in the future," Simon suggested.
