Blair flopped down on the ground next to him and grinned. "Hey, Jack."

Jack grinned back at him. "Hey, Blair. How's the day been treating you?"

"Pretty good, man." Blair bounced. "We had a quiz in Prophecy this morning, which was awesome."

"It was awesome that you had a quiz?" Jack stared at Blair, slightly baffled. "Because that's not usually a good thing."

"I have an unhealthy obsession with learning." Blair shrugged. "I wave my geek flag proudly, man."

"I like that," he replied. "Be proud of who you are. That's always been my philosophy. But I have to ask, was it a surprise quiz?"

Blair grinned at the praise and nodded. "I think so, man. I pretty sure I don't remember Aziraphale mentioning a quiz last week."

Jack snickered, greatly amused. "I'm amazed they could make it a surprise. Being Prophecy, you'd think it would just be anyone who shows up and doesn't know there's a quiz, fails."

It took a moment, but Blair eventually got the joke and laughed. "That's a very good point, man. Phoebe didn't show up for class today, maybe you found the reason why."

"Very possibly." Jack grinned and sipped his coffee, then leaned back against the tree trunk and raised an eyebrow at Blair. "So, flirting - what do you want to know?"

Blair pulled a notebook out of his backpack and flipped it open to a list. "I want to learn how to flirt with people and how to know when people are flirting with me. I want to know when it's harmless and when it's serious and how to do it both ways."

The appearance of the notebook startled a laugh out of Jack. "Umm, okay. I don't know if I can be that structured, but I'll give it a shot. Which do you want first?"

"This is by no means a lesson plan, man. It's just some of the stuff I want to learn." Blair said with a smile. "If you don't mind, we could start with the harmless flirting."

Lana was out running a few errands that she hadn't had time to do between work and classes today when she saw a familiar figure sitting under a tree. As quietly as she could, she went up to him, wondering if she'd be able to surprise him. "Jack!"

It was pretty difficult to sneak up on Jack, but he was happy to feign surprise, whirling around to face her and exclaiming, "Don't do that!" while he tried to cover a grin.

Lana looked apologetic. "Sorry. I was just so happy to see you." She smiled at him. "How are you doing?"

Jack waved away her apology. "I was only kidding, and even if you'd scared ten years off me, it would have been worth it for the pleasure of your company," he said, letting the grin escape. "And I'm good. Very good, actually, as many would be happy to tell you. What about you?"

She beamed and blushed a little at the same time. "I'm good, too. Really good." Her eyes may have gotten a little far away as she thought about her day yesterday. And her night.

Jack chuckled at her expression. "Things going well with Jim, are they?"

"They are," she admitted. "Pretty incredibly well. Almost to the making me nervous level of well."

Jack patted the ground next to him. "Why is it making you nervous?"

Lana sat down next to him. "I don't have this kind of luck. Things... always go badly. And usually just when I think everything's good, it all just falls apart."

"That's where you're going wrong," he said, but there was no criticism in it. "Don't worry, just enjoy the moment, and the next one, and the next one. Worrying about tomorrow's only going to spoil today's fun."

Lana nodded. "I'm trying, believe me I'm trying. I'm just not used to having a lot of good moments."

She shook her head and smiled at him. "But I'm not here to be mopey. I'm here to be blissfully happy all over you."
