The Park, Wednesday Afternoon

Wilson had said he wanted to spend time soaking up a little sun and enjoying the nice fall weather. Aziraphale wasn't so sure about the wisdom of that idea, considering the young doctor's injuries and the fact that he himself wasn't feeling his best.

But that didn't stop him from heading out to the park with a blanket and a thermos of tea, the blanket for just in case it got too cool and the tea for...well, because it was tea.

[ooc: Stop by and see Aziraphale and Wilson, or use the post for your own parkiness.]

With his arm now properly stitched and bandaged, tucked in close to his body by a soft sling and carefully immobalized so that the hairline bone fractures didn't ache quite so much, Wilson puttered through the park, heading for the duck pond.

It was a nice day, sunny and cool, the air starting to become crisp with Fall and Wilson even managed to find an early volunteer off the tree to chase with his toe as he came up behind Aziraphale.

"Hey." He said softly, bending down to pick up the leaf and holding it out towards Phale as he came to sit down on the bench beside him.

Taking the tea with a content hum, Wilson settled himself a little closer so that he could lean, shoulder to shoulder with the angel. It was impossible to sit on this bench, looking out over this duck pond, sipping tea and not wallow in pleasent memories.

"He asked what I'd done to myself. I said wild sex and jell-o shots." Turning, he gave Phale and impish grin. "If only."

"I'll make em one night...you know, after I'm off the happy pills." Wilson said with a gentle grin.

Looking at the donut the grin grew into a smile, one of the first he'd indulged in since the night before and he chuckled.

"Certainly, as long as you don't mind sharing your gift." He arched an eyebrow, curious about who the little imp was but true to one of their first understandings, he didn't push for the answer, if it was something private for Aziraphale.

Leaning out a little, Wilson grinned and took his part of the donut.

"That ... is so sweet, Raphale."

It even earned the angel a kiss on the cheek.

It wouldn't feel like home.

"I'm sure she'll bring it around...the monster that is...she seems to be a bright young lady." Wilson said then he sat up a bit. "Oh, that reminds me, Bel works in the Clinic...only it's not Bel, just someone who looks exactly like him. Just so it doesn't catch you by surprise if you ever run into him."

Yep, it wouldn't be Fandom without conversations like these. Settling back in against the angel, Wilson stretched his legs out and fell silent for a bit, looking thoughtful as he sipped his tea.

"Guess...that I'd better stick to the island for a bit."

Wilson eyed the unconsciously possessive way Phale's fingers curled into his sweater and he lowered his good hand to grasp his lover's.

"I sort of knew what I was signing on for." He said softly but there was regret in his tone because while he knew, that still didn't absolve the fact that Blair and Bel had been pulled into a dangerous situation.

"But, I've got to tell you, love...despite our so called exhaulted status in HIS eyes, we seem to be little more than toy soliders for you lot to play with, melt under a microscope or leave stuck out in the sand."

It shook his faith. It shook his faith in HIM to be told one thing, yet treated in an entirely different manner.

"How is it your fault?" Wilson exclaimed fretfully. "You were just doing your job...even back in the beginning, all you've done is your duty and this...Balrog just keeps coming."

Wriggling his good arm between Aziraphale's back and the bench, Wilson lay his head on the angel's shoulder.

"I know, I can make the argument that at least there is this island where we seem to be safe...discounting zombies and gremlins and...horny teenagers and that it could be an example of HIS love but it seems so unbalanced with no real way for us to come out the winners, we're supposed to be in the end."

River noticed Aziraphale and attempted to sneak up behind him. She wasn't sure if that worked on angels, but it was worth a try. She carefully placed a donut beside him on the bench, winked, and disappeared again.

Clark was enjoying the fine early autumn weather, and his path just happened to take him by Aziraphale and Wilson. "Hello."
